I spent my college years at The University of Maryland. After graduation I worked for WETA in production for a year before moving to NY where I worked in marketing and PR for Philip Morris. I had a dream job there, working primarily on event marketing such as Indy car racing (CART), music concerts, tennis matches, professional bowling, and dance competitions. It was a great place to work. After four years in NY (working 7 days a week, and weekends) I decided that all work and no family was not what I wanted. I decided to move back to the DC area to be closer to my family (since then my sister, and her family, along with my parents have move to AZ!).
I got a job at Leading Authorities, Inc., an international speaker's bureau. There I worked as vice president of marketing for over nine years. I have been very lucky to work with and meet some of the world's most inspirational people.
In 2001 I married my husband, Jamie Saylor. We met at Tommy Joe's in Bethesda, and were married a year and a half later. We moved to Vienna, VA to be closer to Jamie's dad who was suffering from Alzheimer's at the time. In 2004 we welcomed our first son, Benjamin (Ben) into the world. And 18 months later we were lucky enough to welcome our second son Luke. And, in case you were wondering...no, we are not die-hard Star Wars Fans...we just liked the names. :)
I quit my job at Leading Authorities in August of 2007 to follow my real passion...my children. I currently stay at home with them (although we are rarely home). I'm enjoying every minute of it, and have never been happier in my life. I stay active with volunteer work at the boy’s school, and running around with them (and after them) all day long.
It’s been a great journey! I’m looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion!
