Jean-Marc Taymans

I was in the class for Kindergarten only. I went to high school at Saint Anselm's Abbey school in Washington DC. I studied Bio-Engineering and Poltical sciences in Belgium, then worked for Glaxo-Smithkline in Process development. I then started a PhD at the Free University of Amsterdam and at Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Research and Development. Since completing the PhD, I've been conducting scientific research at the University of Leuven, Belgium on the molecular basis of Parkinson's disease.

I remember playing jumping jacks in the hallway after school and plying doctor and kitchen in the class. I loved the playground and would later on still come often to play basketball or tennis on nearby courts.
