Union Bears Football Game

7:30pm Bullitt Park

When the cool air of Friday night collides with a thunderous roar of cheers from the Valley, it can only mean one thing…its football season in Big Stone Gap! The Powell Valley High School Class of 2001 has reserved a section in the bleachers at Union Bullitt Park for the game against Gate City. This informal event is the perfect way to show off our old school spirit to the new Union High School!

Every 2001 class member and his/her family are welcome to join. *Each person is responsible for his/her own ticket to the game.

Family Picnic

11:30am-2:00pm Bullitt Park Pavilions

A lot can happen in ten years...we’ve gone from listening to music on a Discman to an iPod, gas at Tiger Market was around $1.46/gallon and now it is more like $3.46, we’ve gone from laughing at Justin Timberlake for being in the boy band *NSYNC to laughing at him on Saturday Night Live. Time has a way of changing things and we aren’t exempt—come share the changes in your life at our family picnic!

Pizza, plates, and napkins will be provided.

Bring your own cold soft drinks and water (ice and cups will not be provided).

Bring any games (cornhole boards, mitts & baseballs, basketballs, etc.) you would like to have for entertainment.

Every 2001 class member and his/her family are welcome to join. *Please register at www.pvhs2001.com and answer a few questions in the "Family Picnic" survey (listed on the top, left) if you plan to attend this event. We need to know how much food and supplies to purchase.

Holiday Inn in Downtown Norton

Remember that first school dance you attended at PVMS? Your parents drop you off and with each step closer to the cafeteria/auditorium/dance floor you can’t tell if the thumping you hear is your heartbeat or the bass from the DJ booth. As you walk through those double-doors you see what all the fuss has been about— the guys line up on the left side near the big bowls of potato chips and soda while the girls huddle in groups on the other side of the cafeteria giggling and gossiping. By the time you get up the nerve to actually talk to the guy/girl you are "going with" the lights come on and your parents are waiting to pick you up.

 

Our Banquet isn’t going to be like that!

 

Menu:

House Salad

Entre choice of either Roast Beef w/ Au Jus & Horseradish cream or Chicken Marsala

Oven Roasted Herb Potatoes

Steamed Vegetable Medley

Desert choice of either Cheese Cake or Layered Chocolate Cake

 

Ice tea and coffee are included with the meal. *Soft drinks are available for purchase from the cash bar.

 

There will be a cash bar, dance floor, a professional DJ, and various other forms of entertainment!

 

Only class members who have purchased tickets for the Reunion Banquet can attend this event. *Tickets WILL NOT be sold at the door.
