Jacquelyn Mocabee

Obituary from the Billings Gazette, Sunday, December 5. 1993

Jacquelyn ‘Jacque’ Oliver

Jacquelyn Oliver, 46, of Billings, died of cancer on Saturday, Dec. 4, 1993, at Billings Deaconess Medical Center.

Jacque was born on May 20, 1947, in Billings, the daughter of Lester D. and Frieda Mocabee. She attended Billings schools and was graduated from Billings Senior High in 1965.

In 1967, she married Roy Oliver and during the following years they lived in Cheyenne, Helena, Denver, and Lewistown, returning to live in Billings in 1987.

Throughout the years, Jacque volunteered much of her time helping with children’s extracurricular school activities, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Bible schools. She truly loved all children and delighted in spending whatever time she could with them. Her other love was animals of all kinds. Many of God’s lost creatures found food, shelter and a loving friend with Jacque until she could find a permanent home for them. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family, all of whom loved her deeply.

Jacque is survived by her husband, Roy; two children, Dawn and Mike; her mother; and sister, Janet Good, all of Billings. Also surviving is a sister and brother-in-law, Judy and West Prewett of Fromberg and a brother, James Mocabee of Missoula.

…Interment…in Rockvale Cemetery.

My connection to Jacque was simple...any time the class was lined up alphabetically, Jacque was right in front of me, just as she is in the list of classmate profiles.  I was therefore, compelled to do some research and was able to find an obit.  I remember Jacque as always very pleasant but from my place in line cannot be sure she was always smiling.  She may have been uneasy about the character behind her.

Thank you, Jon.  I have searched for it but was unable to locate.  Glad you were able.  Jackie was a dear friend of mine all through high school and yes, she had a beautiful smile and an infectious laugh.  Unfortunately, as what happens to a lot of us, after high school we went different directions and only communicated occassionally over the next few years and then we lost touch.  As I have thought many times since her passing, "What a shame, so young, so beautiful and so much life to live!"   Jacque

It is always sad to read of a classmates passing especially when so young.

What I remember about Jacque was her green, sparkely eyes. Before her passing, she worked at Sears and I saw her there often
