Terry Bramble

Terry Bramble

Terry Lee Bramble died at the age of 74 in Billings, MT on July 24, 2024, due to complications from COPD. He was born on July 25, 1949, in Sioux City, Iowa to Warren and Hazel Bramble. When he was 7 years old the family, including Terry’s older sister Nadeen, moved to Billings, Montana for Warren’s job with the post office. It was there that Terry graduated from high school and eventually met Carol Smith. They married on March 16, 1973. Terry and Carol raised their 3 children in Miles City, Montana (with a detour through Fort Morgan, Colorado) before returning to live in Billings.

Terry was a proud member of the Laborers Union of Montana, Local 1686. It was with the union that he developed his tremendous work ethic and belief in taking pride in everything you do, which he first learned from his parents.

Terry loved fishing and camping with his family and friends, especially along the Boulder River. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed telling stories about his (mis)adventures. When he wasn’t watching his favorite teams the Denver Broncos and Atlanta Braves, he was enjoying golfing and winning at cribbage. He also spent many hours tying flies so his son and grandkids could catch “the big one”. Terry was a master on the grill and relished every opportunity to barbecue, but he also enjoyed indulging in a strawberry margarita at Red Lobster. Terry took pleasure tending to his garden and tinkering around his house and yard, listening to the Oldies and rhapsodizing about the weather, especially any rainfall.

Terry greatly enjoyed attending his children’s and grandchildren’s school and sporting events. He was also partial to socializing and attending classes at East Rosebud Fly & Tackle, and wide-ranging phone calls and visits with cousins and friends. He was always willing to help anyone in need. He was well-known for his sense of humor and several pranks that are fondly remembered to this day.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Nadeen Kennedy in 2021; grandson Chase Lee Bramble in 1994; as well as family dogs including Rusty, Tiffany, Mickey and Jasper. Terry is survived by Carol Bramble, his wife of 51 years; his daughters Melisa (Neil) Leatham and Jill Olson; his son Tim Bramble; his grandchildren Brady, Tressa, Landon, Kinsley, Calvin and Briar; his nieces Jackie (Ricky) Thompson and Shelly (David) Snow. He is also survived by many cousins and extended family, numerous friends, and the family dog (and constant companion) Jasmine.

Terry’s wish was to have no funeral service. He will be cremated, and his ashes spread at the Boulder. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
