Ronald “Ronn” Maurice Dye, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away after a short battle with cancer on June 9, 2025.
Born on June 26, 1949, in Lander, Wyoming, to Geraldine Holets and Alvin Dye, Ronn spent his early years in Brazil before returning to the United States to complete his education. He graduated from Senior High School in 1967, embarking on a life filled with deep connections and unforgettable experiences.
In 1968, Ronn first married Sheri Reiter, bringing two sons, Michael and Sean into their world. Within that time, he answered the call to serve his country by joining the U.S. Air Force, where he proudly served during the Vietnam Era until his honorable discharge in 1973. His dedication to hard work carried into his civilian life, where he became an avid bartender, lending his charm and expertise to establishments such as Gramma’s Bar and Squire Lounge.
Ronn also spent time as a roadie for Steel Breeze, fully embracing the energy, camaraderie and his love of music. In 1982, he found his greatest love when he married his best friend of 42 years, Melissa Becker, sharing a bond that was deeply rooted in friendship and devotion, raising 3 children, Shane, and twin daughters Danielle and Anna. Starting their journey in Kalispell, MT Ronn capitalized on his gift of gab and worked hand in hand with his wife at Corral West Ranchwear. Continuing his passion of sales and moving to Billings, MT he worked at companies such as K-BEAR Radio, Coors Distributing and finally retiring with FritoLay.
A true sports enthusiast, Ronn was a skilled and passionate golfer, competing in pool and bowling leagues, and was a die-hard Denver Broncos fan.
Ronn was preceded in death by his parents, Geraldine and Alvin, his grandson Braxton, and his niece Leticia & sister Deborah Dye-Townsend (Jeff). His memory lives on through the family and friends that love him to include his wife Melissa, his children Michael (Lynda), Sean (Debbie), Shane, Danielle (Cody), and Anna; his cherished grandchildren Amanda, Zachary, Kiana, Melanie, Leoh, Shyloh, Colt, and Brody; his sister Elizabeth (John) Patefield; his brother-in-law Jeff Townsend and his countless beloved nieces and nephews.
Ronn's personality made an impression on all who knew him, he was stubborn, outspoken and without filter. Unknown to most, it was his shield for him to hide his soft gentle side, few of his close family and friends adored and were lucky enough to know. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will live on in the memories and hearts of all who knew him.
