February 2nd 2025, our family said goodbye to a man known for his strength, love of life, laugh, and bright blue eyes. Harold Leon Hobill, son of Robert and Marie Hobill, left us with a lifetime of cherished memories as he joined his loved ones that left before him.
Born August 2nd 1949 in Billings Mt. Harry grew up in a home near Lake Elmo with 1 brother and 4 sisters. Harry and his brother Rich spent the summers working and playing at the lake their teenage years. The 5th of 6 kids, Harry was known as the happy brother. Living life to the fullest was an understatement. His love for family was evident throughout his life, especially with his love for his sisters. That bond was never broken and was just as strong until the day he passed. He was close to all but especially to his one baby sister Rosalie. She was by his side thru thick and thin.
Harry was a proud father of 3 beautiful daughters. Married twice. Harry called his 2nd wife, Mary Lynne Hobill, the love of his life and was with her till the end. Not only did he marry her, he took on the daunting task of not only father but step dad to 3 more kids. He never flinched at the challenge. We as a family were always well provided for, cared for, and shown how to enjoy life. All of us kids provided different challenges but Harry was always there for us.
Harrys work ethic was second to none. He excelled at everything he did. From construction to sales, he did it all. Selling 113 vacuums door to door in a single month earned him an inground swimming pool for his family and friends to enjoy. 4th of July parties were never the same. He loved the holidays, but the 4th of July had to be his favorite. He served in the Army including a tour in Germany. He proudly flew a flag at his house daily and had a deep love for his country. Harry enjoyed so much, cards, golf, skiing, ice skating, swimming, Mrs. Pacman, and of all others, horse racing. Every activity he said was better with friends. That's Harry, the life of the party. Always making sure everyone is enjoying and taken care of before himself. A loving, giving, and selfless man. He requested to be cremated with no service. We as a family have honored his wishes. Harry will be missed and remembered fondly by so many his life touched, knowing that is what comforts us all.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marilan Branam, brother Rich Hobill, and youngest daughter Kristina Acosta. Survived by his sisters Linda Linnen, Dianna Waddell, Rosalie Hobill.
