Steven O. Janich, 76, of Billings, Montana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

Born in Billings on November 23, 1948, to Steve and Della Janich, Steve was raised in his hometown, where he formed lifelong friendships and a lasting bond with the people and places he called home. He proudly served his country in the Vietnam War, a chapter of his life that shaped his enduring strength, grit, and dedication.

Steve married Hoa Thi of Tra Vinh, Vietnam, beginning a 56-year partnership filled with love, loyalty, and shared adventures. Together they built a life centered on family.

He worked as a General Superintendent in Montana, Illinois, Hawaii, and California, and was a respected member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 30. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Al Bedoo Shrine.

He is survived by his wife, Hoa Janich; children Anessa Ferrell (Jim) of Temecula, California; Luke Janich of Singapore; and Sarrem Koch (Kevin) of Billings, Montana; sister Rondel Lakier (Jeff) of Billings; grandchildren Ashley, Hadyn, Ella, and Logan; and his dog, Meka, who rarely left his side.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Della Janich, and his sister, Jeneane Janich.

With love and respect, we honor his wishes: cremation has taken place and no services are planned. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
