Tom Petty of Billings, Montana, was called home to his Lord on Monday, November 7, 2022, at the young age of 73.

Tom was born January 21, 1949, to Stanley “Dick” and Betty Petty. Tom was a graduate of Billings Senior High School, class of 1967. He started his military service with the Army in 1970 in Fort Lewis and served at Ft. Belvoir, Alexandria,VA and Lebanon, PA. At the end of his military service, Tom began his successful career beginning with Montana Dakota Utilities and then continued with Montana Power (Northwestern Energy). His career spanned almost 50 years.

On October 7, 1970, Tom married the love of his life, Linda Leggett. Tom and Lynn enjoyed 52 years of marriage. They created a loving home and brought son Rich and daughter Jennifer into this world.

In addition to being a loving father and grandfather, Tom really appreciated time spent with friends golfing, snowmobiling, hunting and fishing. Tom is survived by his loving wife Lynn, son Rich (Kim), daughter Jennifer, brother Gary, sister Karen (Craig) Godfrey, three grandchildren: Jackson, Piper and Zoey, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is loved and missed by all.
