Lucille Shearer was the second oldest child of five born to the late Clem and Estelle Shearer. She was born on March 18m 1922 in Birmingham Alabama. Her sister Jessie Lee Shearer proceeded her passing in 1990 Lucille received her formal education in the Birmingham, Alabama public school system. She was a member of Mount Carmel church and Mount Olive Baptist Church under pastorate of Pastor Straw, Gallon, Alabama Lucille relocated to Philadelphia Pa. in 1943, where she met Spencer Brown from this union. three children were born in 1945.
