Charles Ramsey - Class Of 1952

Our beloved Charles Ramsey was born to Mr. Henry Ramsey and Mrs. Sallie Ramsey in Birmingham, AL on December 12, 1934.

He graduated from Wenonah High School, Class of 1952 and later traveled to New York City and was inducted into the US Army.  After returning back to New York City, he became a Police Officer.  While working as a Police Officer, he attended John Jay College of Criminal Justice and received a BS Degree in Criminal Justice.  When he retired, he returned back home to Birmingham and became an entrepreneur and operated a laundromat for many years.

During his retirement, he enjoyed bowling, golfing and watching sports.  He also made himself available to help family, in-laws and friends.

Mr. Charles Ernest Ramsey passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2021.  He is survived by his wife, Juanita Cureton Ramsey; son, Averil Charles Ramsey; sisters, Mrs. Carrie Moore and Jessie Wilson; nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. Viewing Wednesday 1-6pm at Roberts Chapel. Graveside Service Thursday 12 Noon at Elmwood Cemetery. Face Protection and Social Distancing Required.
