She was a Birmingham native and attended Wenonah High School prior to residing in Detroit. While there, Olivia was employed as a Press Operator with Plastomer Corporation and faithful to Gordy Memorial Church of God in Christ. She was preceded in death by her son, Willie James, Jr.; grandsons, Willie James, III, Demone and William; siblings, Daisy White, Dorothy Moore, Marie, Eugene, Alfonso and James Bryant, Jr. This Wenonah resident entered eternal life on Saturday, September 4, 2010. Mouners include husband of 57 years, Willie James Strickland, Sr.; daughter, Gennise (Elisha) Lawler; siblings, Betty Moncrief, Audrey and Mitchell (Queenie) Bryant; daughter-in-law, Sandra Strickland and numerous grandchildren.
