Pinkie Goodwin was born in 1919 to the union of Lagrange William Goodwin and Emma Brown Goodwin in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and died on August 6, 1943 in Kings, New York, when she was 24 years old. Pinkie and her family migrated from Cottondale, Alabama to Birmingham, Alabama, and Pinkie's mother Emma died in Birmingham  in 1930. Pinkie Goodwin,  Randolph Goodwin and Paul Goodwin, her brothers lived with their aunt Ethel Brown in Birmingham after their mother, Emma Brown died. Pinkie's father William Lagrange Goodwin died in January, 1934, at age 52 in Birmingham, Alabama.  Pinky Goodwin married Frank Strudwick on June 28, 1936, when she was 17 years old.
