Brian Plachta

Brian Plachta

Brian passed due to carbon monoxide poisoning.  He was running his engine when he was working on the brakes of his car.

I am sure many remember Brian for his athletic prowess and larger than life personality, but he also had a generous, caring side. Thanks in no small part to Brian and the entire Plachta family, I had a great childhood. Unfortunately, Brian always had a reckless streak a mile wide and a string of injuries to show for it, and it finally caught up with him.

Smart lad, to slip betimes away
From fields where glory does not stay,
And early though the laurel grows
It withers quicker than the rose.

Brian was a fun guy to hang around with, and an incredible athlete.
He is missed.

Brian was a great friend, and athlete.  I remember him putting an entire pool ball into his mouth - I tried this but now way.  He liked to puff out his cheeks an enormouns distance alway making us laugh.  We played a lot of pool at his house and just hung out.  Of course playing football and basketball with him at West Maple and Groves will always be charished.  Senior year spring break at Ft. Lauderdale and Cleawater beaches in Florida were both eventful and memorable.  Rest in peace Brian.
