Wow! Life sometimes has a way of taking you where you least expect it, huh? My life since 1989....ok.....here it is in a nutshell. I met Colby (in an after-hours bar--lol) in 1994. We decided to move out of Missouri and chose Phoenix (by closing our eyes and randomly selecting a point on a US map with our finger--true story), so we packed everything we could in my two door car and headed across the country. We married in Las Vegas on the way and lived in a tent at a KOA for a few weeks while we found an apartment and jobs. He taught me how to play bass guitar (well enough for the local band scene...lol) and he taught himself to play guitar (he used to play bass). We met another budding guitarist and a drummer and formed "Hyon." The band existed for eight or so years and played some unbelievely cool gigs (for a local band). What an amazing experience, I must say! Pretty crazy stuff. Colby began singing in another band after Hyon broke up and has been in a few bands since. He is now the lead singer of Slaves9. Industrial stuff...very cool. I became a vegetarian (due to animal cruelty) and began running (you know, the exercise) about four years ago. I have run 6 full marathons (26.2 miles) and many half marathons, 10k & 5K races, and a few trail runs. I run with a recreational team; we don't run to win, just to better our personal times and have fun in the process. We travel around the country running these races. Tons of fun! Colby and I don't have any human children, but have become parents to many creatures that have needed homes. We treat them just like kids. I call us the "no kill humane society."

I am horrible about spending time on the internet; I swear there is some sort of time warp that steals large chunks of our lives, so I only get online for personal use a few times a week to check my bank balance, my email, and now Facebook. My running buddies pretty much forced me to do it in order to share race photos. I said "I don't want to be one of those people!!" but I gave in and must admit, it is pretty cool.

I won't be able to make it to the reunion. I really wish I could, though. I was just looking at everyone's profiles and am amazed at how things have changed. Well, it has been 20 years, so I guess that's expected....lol

:)
