A NEW CHAPTER HAS BEEN ADDED BELOW
Life after Tech has been many things: Fulfilling, Challenging, Stressful, even Crazy, but through it all I have found HAPPINESS !! Here is my story:
After living in AJ with a GREAT bunch of guys I moved into Vawter Hall with Gerry Sophomore year.
Moved to Foxridge Junior Year with Ricky and Billy. Had my heart broken...got over it.
Senior Year I was recruited by Shell Oil Co. to join their Accounting staff in Houston, TX
1977 - 1985: LIFE WAS GOOD !! A month after graduation I got into my 63 Chrystler Newport, OH, What a Car !! and drove from NJ to Houston. What a place to be single.....11-month summers...Cowgirls....10-month softball seasons....Cowgirls...2-for-1 happy hours.....Gilley's.....and did I mention the Cowgirls ?! Three years of that was all I could take so in 1980 I married the sister-in-law of a softball buddy. A year later Heather was born, the best day of my life to that point. By this time I had moved on to JM Huber and then in 1982 went to Nortex Gas and Oil to design their first mainframe accounting system. Each move was another step up the Corporate ladder, and with each rung came a bigger house and nicer car......we were digging a nice hole for ourselves. In 1985 Derek was born, the new best day of my life.
REALITY HITS !!! A week after Derek was born I became victim to a Corporate buyout of the small oil company I was working for. That hole we dug was deeper than I thought, and umpiring softball couldn't pull us out, so we moved to NJ to find work. Got a job at the Corporate Headquarters of JM Huber, who moved us to Borger, TX in 88, then back to NJ in 89. That last move mercifully ended the marriage, and the 4-year nightmare, but not before all the hair fell out.
New Beginning: December 89, I met Poopsie (Marilyn), a genuine Jersey Girl. This was the newest, and as it turns out, BEST, best day of my life. We married in 94, honeymooned in Disney with the kids, and have lived happily ever after. Between stints at work, which included a move to Pearson Education in 98, we travel, visit the kids, and love each other. No more climbing ladders and accumulating toys for me. We are simply enjoying life together.
2011 - Forevermore: I officially retied mid-March, 2011 and moved to Grand Island, Florida. I spend my time playing softball, trying to improve my still-miserable golf game, tending to my newly created flower beds and other yard work, and loving Poopsie. Spoiling the grand kids will have to wait until July, 2013. Heather is REALLY wrapped up in her new career, but Derek and Teresa are expecting in July......I can hardy wait !!
