It seems impossible that we graduated nearly a third of a century ago.

Graduated from Tech with a dual major in Animal Science and Agricultural Education in 1977
Stayed at Tech to complete masters of Education in Career and Technical Education. I finished my masters in the fall quarter of 1978.

I moved to Nelson County, Virginia in December of 1978. Home of the Waltons TV show

Married my wife (who I met at VA Tech) Debbie in August of 1979

I have been teaching Agricultural education courses in Nelson County or almost 30 years. We have three children:
Our oldest son is finishing his masters in Career and Technical Education at VA Tech and getting married in June. Our daughter is finishing up her junior year at Tech dual majoring in Accounting and Agricultural economics. Our youngest son is finishing his junior year in High school. Plans to enroll at Tech and major in either engineering or becoming and agricultural extension agent.

We live on a small farm. We have a few sheep that eat up a lot of our spare time. My wife is the accounting and personnel director for the county. We are active in a small church in Roseland. I teach a variety of agricultural topics including a dual enrollment forestry class. I get back to Tech usually 2-3 times a year as part of my job. In fact I stayed in AJ several times in the last decade.

My daughter lived in East AJ on the sixth floor (on the coliseum end) last year. April 16th is a day that will always be difficult to forget for our family.

Best memories from 6th floor AJ are many: Intramural football with Scott, the javelin tossing West Virginian was one that is hard to forget. Then there were the snow ball fights that brought the wrath of the Jocks to 6th floor. Does anyone recall the Panty Raid when Jerrys shorts parachuted out the sixth floor window?? I am sure it gave someone in the crowd below (in the pit) a whole new meaning to post traumatic stress. The card games in the study lounge and penny locking doors kept life interesting. When did we study?

I am sorry that we will not be able to join you for the reunion. Great idea Bob! With a son graduating and getting married, along with taking care of the farm and teaching unfortunately I will not be able to make the reunion. I have enjoyed reading the profiles and thinking back to a time in my life when we had more energy than we knew what to do with.
