Mike Foutz

Michael Warren Foutz died peacefully at home in Greensboro, NC on March 29, 2022. He was born in Pulaski, VA on June 22, 1952. He was predeceased by his parents Warren Junior and Leda Ruth (Covey) Foutz. A graduate of Blacksburg High School, Michael attended Virginia Western and New River Community colleges and loved sharing his Spanish lessons with anyone who would listen. He proudly served in various leadership roles for Hubbell Lighting Inc. for 35 years. He is survived by his beloved wife, Tacy; children Michael Stephen and Jennifer, Erica, Valerie and Juka, Nikki and Scott, Kiefer and Ellaine; two grandchildren who brought him unbridled joy; two sisters and three brothers; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, a host of fantastic friends, and a loyal, albeit sometimes naughty, dog. Michael had a natural curiosity and unparalleled appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. He savored long hugs, building others up with his words, demonstrating appreciation, the beauty of spring— especially red buds, and all creatures big and small. Some of Michael’s favorite memories include his travels throughout the U.S. and the opportunity to visit zoos wherever he could find one. He had a 1,000 watt smile that lit up a room and inspired everyone in his path to smile alongside him. Michael’s love was all encompassing and a gift to those he held in his heart. He will be deeply missed by his family and loved ones. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to are encouraged to make a donation to the North Carolina Zoological Park. Arrangements entrusted to Triad Cremation and Funeral Service of Greensboro, NC.
