We've lost another Classmate, Ron Lype passed away yesterday. Ron was married to Connie Beautow from our class.   As soon as his Obituary is available it will be posted in the In Memory Section.

I remember seeing this like  it was yesterday, my Mom got Meadow Gold Milk and I remember the Milkman pulling up and the horse would wait patiently while he delivered our order.  Funny the things that stick in  your  mind!

Another blast from the past is the "cave" where they housed the bears at Miller Park.  I don't remember how many they had, obviously not too many since this wasn't that big.

This is a picture of Ensenbergers windows.  There was a lot of window dressing to be done there but they always had the neatest things in them.  Today the building has Condominium Units in it.

Remember going to Miller Music  to buy 45 records, this is a picture of the row  of records they had.

I have shown a picture of the Consistory now known as the Center for the Performing Arts  before but this one really does it justice.

This picture is of the Gas Station that was located on East Street by the Consistory.  The street which you turned right on, (I can't remember the name or did East Street go around that curve) which ran in front of the Church which is now an Art Gallery was closed off and the Gas Station space is now a lot of green space.  Protesters get on the corner of East and Douglas Streets during the summer protesting their causes.

Thanks, Barb, for finding the great pics.  Our first apartment was the upstairs behind the house, that is in the picture. We were directly across the street from the Pentacostal Church that is now the Art Gallery. From East Street heading toward the Consistorary, you turned onto Mullberry Street to head east. Both the houses were torn down - maybe in the 70's or 80's? The last year of Michael's at Wesleyan, we did not have a working car. However, he could walk to school and walk to work at his job at the Bootery. Jeanne & Brryan Olofson had an apartment w couple of blocks north of Mulberry Street (block north of Locust) across from Franklin Park before Bryan, who also graduated from Wesleyan.

A picture of Campbell Holton  which was down by the tracks on Oakland Avenue.  When I was in grade school we went on a field trip there and met Mr. Holton who I thought was older than God and when I think about it, he was probably the age I am now.  The Home Sweet Home Mission is located there today.

Remember McBarnes Memorial Building located on Gove Street?  When I was in grade school I remember going there for a field trip to a Museum they had in there, it was loaded to the ceiling with stuff and a lot of it was from the Civil War.  The  good news is, the City of Bloomington hasn't torn it down for a parking lot, it's still standing.

This is a picture of the yard besides Withers  Public Library where they were having some sort of Art Sale.  Needless to say, I don't remember this, I think it was from the 50's.
