This was on Facebook today and I know of two Classmates whose Dads are in the picture, Allan Mapel and Sharon Huffman Tepper.

Barb. Thanks for the recent post of the Bloomington Fire Dept. showing my dad and others.. My father was a Captain for 29 years on the department. Just a note, he was there along with his other firemen when there was not the protective clothing, higth tech equipment that there is today , person to person communication and air tanks on their backs. I enclosed a couple pics of my dad with the Captain's helment.

This is one of the Cannons from Miller Park which I'm sure most of us crawled around on it at one time or another.

This next picture is of the Evergreen Cemetary, if you'll remember when we were growing up it was nasty in there, it was overgrown and had dirt roads, not a nice place. When Adlai Stevenson died and was buried there they really cleaned it up, I could spend a whole day in there just looking. This picture is from Memorial Day when they have an Avenue of Flags.

Two pictures of downtown Bloomington, the first being Jefferson Street between Center and Main. I rarely go to the downtown area since I retired but I think it's now two way after being one way going East all those years.

The next is Main Street and it's two way in the picture and now it's one way going North. Bloomington is probably the only City in the United States who has their Main Steeet cobbled up with this traffic pattern. I think our City Fathers had their heads where the sun don't shine when designing it!
