Speaking of Bordeaux I just finished picking grapes with Bob Rush at my neighbors house.  This was my fourth time but Bob's first.  They have a big meal for the helpers afterwards with bottomless bottles of Bordeaux wine.

Who are all these old people? JIm Wilson

Question was "Who are these old people?":  Answer: Just one classmate on the right edge, Bob Rush, the rest are my wife Marie-Antoinette to his right then the rest are neighbors in our hamlet. All of the other people at the table are relatives.  We felt honored to be included at their vendange.  They felt honored to have Bob, Annette, Marie-Antoinette and me helping pick their grapes.  It is hard work being bent over cutting the bunches of grapes and each of us filling a couple dozen of buckets.

The wine can't be too good since all look like they just drank bleach.

Note that I have added all of the obituaries for our former teachers in our In Memory section, that I have found. There are 46 of them at this time. Also note that all of them were younger than we are now, when they taught us. I thought some were much older, but no. I think we live better now because we do look younger. :)

Thanks, Milan, for all your attention to the class website. Yes, we always thought that most of our teachers were very old, even when they weren't. Patti

I would have sworn Lorraine Kraft was 80 when I had her for English. She would have been 63 in my Junior year. 7 years younger than I am now. WOW !!!!  :)

To all Of Del Sweringen's friends . He was the first coach that ever took an interest in a half crazy young athlete and helped me develop not only into a good human being but a good track athlete.  He was the best coach I ever had. He always looked for the good in all people. Jim Wilson

I don't have their email addresses. But Kathy Swearingen Johnson, his daughter is on Facebook. I have asked her for an address so she can hear our Del stories.

Her address is kcpjohns@comcast.net and she would love to hear stories about Del. We should all write to her.

I posted her obituary on here this morning but I guess I forgot to submit it. Here is some bad news for the class of 1962. For some reason, I hadn't added Kay to our list.

BLOOMINGTON — Kay Levandoski, 71, of Bloomington, passed away at 10:10 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 7, 2015) at Arba Care Center, Bloomington.

Her funeral will be at noon Thursday at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, with the Rev. Randy Reece officiating. Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Community Cancer Center or MarcFirst.

Kay was born Aug. 26, 1944, in Lincoln, the daughter of Gustav and Dorothy Ritchhart Franz. She married Wendell Wert and later married Edward L. Levandoski. Edward preceded her in death.

Kay is survived by two daughters, Tamara (Sherrill) Meister-Leslie and Michele Wert, both of Bloomington; two grandchildren, John Miller and Savannah Leslie; her mother, Dorothy Carlen, Bloomington; and a sister, Paula (Cloris) Wilson, Towanda.

She was preceded in death by her father; her stepfather, Edward Carlen; and a niece, Karmon Cooper.

Kay graduated from Bloomington High School. She worked for Growmark as an administrative assistant for more than 25 years, retiring in 2007.

Kay enjoyed volunteering her time for the betterment of others and always put those in need before herself. She served on the board of MarcFirst for many years. She was an advocate for the rights of mentally challenged individuals and had testified in Springfield to help change how the mentally handicapped were treated within the state of Illinois.

Kay also enjoyed boating, working puzzles, but most of all, being with family. Her grandchildren meant the world to her. She will be dearly missed.

To express condolences, please visit www.carmodyflynn.com.

I must be getting old. I posted Kay Franz as Kay Lenz. I did fix it. Getting old is a bummer. :)
