Frank Bailen

After receiving my doctorate in Finance in Higher Education Administration, I was a college administrator at both University of Illinois at Chicago and DePaul University in Chicago. I was the Assistant to the Chancellor at the University of Illinois at Chicago working in the areas of Higher Eudcation Finance and Budgets (1970 to 1973 and was the Director of Research and Sponsored Programs at DePaul University handling government grants and contracts with governmental agencies. (1973-1983),
Moved to Champaign, Illinois in 1983 and started by own Commercial Lending Brokerage Business (Bailen and Associates). Arranged financing for shopping centers, apartments, and office buildings. Formed a bank holding company in 2003 (Metropolitan Capital Bancorp) with three others(Universal Bank). We have offices in Chicago, San Francisco and New York City. We are a private bank lending in commercial real estate and business banking along with investment banking.

In 1991 started with two partners a residential mortgage lending brokerage business arranging financing on residential homes and 3 to 4 unit apartments (Revere Mortgage). Sold my residential lending business to Wintrust Bank out of Chicago. Spent most of my time in Commercial lending and decided to get back into residential lending along with doing commercial lending and joined Mortgage Services III in 2014, later renamed First State Mortgage, a subsidiary of First State Bank of Mendota. We lend all over the U.S. with secondary market mortgages (fannie and freddie, FHA and VA). Doing both commercial lending and residential lending keeps me quite busy and have no plans to retire.
