I am helping the Class of 1966 find missing classmates. Does anyone know anything about

Rosalyn Baker

Karen Thompson Rhodes

Anything could help. Parents names. Where these people lived while in school. Who they married.

I'm prooud to be a member of the Class of 1966. High school was a great time of my life. I've never had any bad times. It's  great to have reunions every so often. It's good to see people I went to school with. I haven't got much to brag about as far as changing the world but who cares. I've had a great life which I have to give Bloomington High School some of the credit for plus I have to give my classmates credit for helping me be the person I've become. It was a great school, great teachers, great fellow students, and basicly a great place to start the process of growing up. Some people probably are surprised I actually grew up but I turned out OK. Of course that is just my opnion. I would like to thank everyone of you for being part of my life. I will never forget my time at BHS. Thank you, the Class of 1966.   James V. Thorpe

I will never forget all the great times I had in school and there were bad also but most of the time they were good. I will never forget some of the teachers we had in school such as Mr. Jackson, Miss Stein, Bertagnolli, Mr. Wilson,Mrs. Calhoon,Mr Bowers, and alot of others that I may of forgot about.

Most of these where responsible for all of us growing up for where we are today. I give alot of credit to my Parents also.

I never gave up even when I had rough times and I thank God for what I became.

Thanks for the heads up, Darrell. I have entered Doug Poag's obituary in the In Memory section. If I have missed any others, please let me know.

Looking for Diana Hauptman DeSalvo. I see on Facebook a lady named Diana DeSalvo Knutson, who went to Bloomington High School. Can this be our Diana? She married Duane Knutson in 2010 and still lives in DeForest, WI

Even though my family moved away for my senior year i most identify with BHS and my classmates there. As i viewed, this last day of 2015, the class members we have lost i am remined that each day and each breath i have is a blessing and a gift. I have survived my share of what seemed like close calls at the time so my appreciation continues to grow each extra day i have and i am determined to maximize each of those days. Lord willing i look forward to the reunion in the months and years ahead. Peace to all.

Memorial Day:  Here's a video I made about Memorial Day.  In 2010, I had the honor and privilege to give the keynote address at the Memorial Day ceremony at Miller Park in Bloomington.  A friend of mine recorded the audio of the speech.  I later added music and photos and put it on a DVD.  My youngest daughter uploaded it to YouTube.  Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCVyeND0b90

A message from Gary Bush:

I must say I have enjoyed seeing the comments, profiles, and growing enthusiasm for the upcoming event. I have been trying to "fit everything in" so I could attend; but that turns out to fall in the only time span that I have been able to arrange getting my kids together with me and Pranee (and Molly, our Newfie). That will be taking place at a vacation rental on a lake near Bend, OR. My son and his wife just relocated there after living years in Santa Cruz, CA.

I would like to share the news that another of our classmates won't be making it either, for a very different reason. Darrell Bishop is undergoing open heart surgery tomorrow. I know you will all send him a good thought and a prayer tomorrow.

Besides rooming together at U of I, both graduating in Aeronautical & Astronautical Engineering at the exact time the industry bottomed out, Darrell and I have already survived triple by-pass surgery. DB, as I have called him since college, has to have a valve replaced this time. I'm guessing we aren't the only two, as the "zipper club" at my golf course has many members. We all know recovery is an ordeal; one that we are extremely happy to go through compared to obvious alternatives.

I don't know if this has spell-check, so Lynn and Marilyn, help me out if I screwed up again. I will really miss this opportunity to catch up with all of you. Reno/Tahoe is a beautiful vacation destination; so I invite all of you to stay in touch and come check it out.

Please have a safe and wonderful reunion and send a good thought and prayer DB's way!

I am in tears that so many that I graduated with and can still picture in my mind are gone from us.  And it grieves me more that between finanaces and family coming that same week I will not be able to attend this most important reunion.  Everyone please take lots of pictures and post them on facebook and I will be sure to order the picture, yearbook etc.  I will think of all of you and smile and the spirts of 66 will be there also!

May the Lord be with Darrell and the doctors and all those caring for him.

Our Father knows our pain and can calm and heal us.

I left Bloomington in 1970 and lost contact with friends.  When I joined this group I was hoping to catch up on what they have been doing.  Unfortunately, many of them have not joined or updated their profiles.

I had been looking for a dear friend for many years, but, with no luck.   Sadly, I saw on this site that she had passed away over 10 years ago! crying  It is sad to realize all the time we missed to chat and visit one another.

I will keep checking and maybe more classmates will come forward and let us know how they are doing.

Stay well and happy,

Sandy

I just have a question about the Saturday evening at BCC. Is there a dress code? I see that a class photo will be taken, so wondered about the attire-business casual or other? I am really looking forward to seeing everyone! Sheila Steinbach Engel
