Great pictures, Judy. Do you have any more to post?

I'm still looking for our class pic. in front of Holy Trinity Church....

Joe, let's figure out how to add our class pictures to our profile page and we need to add our yearbooks.  BHS 1963's site looks so cool. OH! I'm sorry. When I added the song on "Memory", I lost your candles again

Everyone, check out BHS class of 1963 on class creator.com. That's what we're hoping this site will become. Their site is fun to visit because so many classmates interact on it.

I've contacted the classmates with whom I keep in touch and encouraging them to log on and participate in this great website. Our 50th reunion is a big year...are we really this old? DARN! In this forum, offer your ideas of fun things to do next year, it'll probably be over a 3 day weekend, and it may be of help to the planning staff. Personally, I was hoping for a late Sept or early Oct reunion so I can enjoy the changing of the season and see the fall colors of Bloomington/Normal. We don't have 4 season changes here in Peoria Arizona, it's 100 degrees today. But I love it when you're shoveling snow and I'm shoveling sunshine ;-)

Donna, it seems like the majority are leaning toward late Sept. early Oct.

Reunion committee: Have you picked dates yet for the reunion? Don't need exact details of everything now but I've talked with a few classmates who might be attending but they also want to make vacation plans for fall of next year and don't want to make their plans on the dates you choose for the reunion. Just posting a date might help get more attending, holding that date open and not making other family plans. Just an idea......

October 12 and 13th. are the dates!! That's homecoming weekend for CCHS. We need suggestion as to where to host Saturday's event and what type of reunion the majority wants. Formal, informal, etc? I think it should be a time for "catching" up and enjoying old friend's company. We don't want to make the mistake we made at the old KofC's where the band was sooo loud we couldn't even talk! Friday we can meet after the game at  the KofC's. Usually people from other classes are there. Or we can go to Clothier's Yankee Doodle. Or both. Let's work together and make this a fun and memorable weekend!

Please post your suggestions here.

To save postage and time, it will be helpful for everyone to post here that they are following the reunion plans. Thanks

Posting won't be a committment that you're attending. That will come after all the plans are finalized.

I'm a little disappointed on the dates for the reunion for several reasons. First, my sister and brother-in-law Donna and Ed come to Florida every year usually Oct. 1st thru the middle of November. Second, Lynn and I plan our annual visit to Illinois in July or August when the weather is warm and I was hoping the reunion would be sometime in the summer. And last but not least, doesn't it get cold in October?

Wait a minute! Let me think! Maybe Indian Summer will arrive during those dates. I sure hope so, but If not, I think I have a heavy leather jacket, gloves and a stocking hat buried somewhere in my closet. I'll see if I can find them and we will fly up for that weekend since I did commit to attend the reuniom and I haven't missed one yet.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.

Hay rack ride and wiener roast sounds great!! A beautiful fall evening (or afternoon), nice conversation with old friends and snacking on hot dogs and marshmallows - what a better way to relax and get to know each other all over again. Count me in!

Well all, I’m glad to add to the mix. Thanks Joe and Nancy for getting this thing going. I didn’t know about this website until I received my card from???? Anyway, Donna was right about getting the dates out early. Good thought and follow up.

The hayrack ride and wiener roast sounds like a plan but not sure where it could take place (lets not do it at the 7-up plant please!!). I have a couple of cousins who own farms and might be persuaded to letting us do something at their place. I haven’t checked with them, but would be willing to do so if you would like.

I wouldn’t mind putting together a golf game at one of the clubs if you think anyone would be interested. We did it about 10 years ago with reasonable success. Let me know. I would suggest Friday for that event as I believe most folks will be there on Thursday.

As far as to where to hold it, I vote for Lakeside. We had a great reunion there (I still don’t have my picture) and Judy & I think Mamie, had theirs there with great success, the folks there were good to work with. Knowing that most of us are in retirement may be a minus as far as costs go, but might be offset by private donations from those who would/could want to. Just a thought.

Anyway, I will be an active participant if you so desire and am looking forward the BIG Night(s).

John

YEA! Lakeside, a great place to get-together and discuss our past and present and futures. Thanks to Nancy, JoAnn, Joe and others taking part in the planning. Under consideration, there's a homecoming game the night before, maybe golf for those interested, and Mass before Lakeside. And, maybe a weiner roast over an open fire Sunday. I'll be a nice 3 day weekend reunion.

AND..... Please join this forum and give us your input on any ideas on what you'd like to do. We're open to any and all suggestions! Let's hear from you.

AND.... Post on your profile page with a YES, that you will attend.

I think that a hay rack ride would be fun (who will I sit by and will she be interested in fooling around - I don't

know what that means anymore, but I think I used to be interested in it! Maybe we coud do the whole party

at Deacon's Valley - probably a shopping mall now - wonder if the highway is even still there. Hey hawk, get

that leather jacket out - you Florida folks are cold if it's 60 degrees. By the way Joe/Nancy Diane (now Diana)

lives in Prescott, Arizona and you can get her email by just googling her name - her counseling agency will

come up, just like the nearest Casino will come up if you google my name. Best to everyone who reads this

and someone help me find "Cookie".    Jack

Sites not too active lately.  Should we keep it going after the reunion???  Let me know (it's paid thru Jan 2013).

I keep some of the mistakes in for awhile to see if anyone let's me know.  I don't proof read for a couple of days sometimes. LOL

By the response to the reunion reservations, it appears that our reunion will be well attended. Does that surprise you? It doesn't surprise me. What does surprise me is the lack of response to this website. Joe has worked very hard to create it. He's spent hours trying to make it as appealing as possible not to mention the money that he's spent. I wish you would visit BHS class of 1963's site at www.classcreator.com/Bloomington-Il-1963. The interaction between 1963's classmates is unbelievable. I can't imagine them being more connected than our THS CLASS OF 1962!! The response that they have shown is what we were hoping for. Come on guys....show Joe that we appreciate all of his efforts!

Hi guys, our good friend and classmate, Donnie Andrews underwent major surgery on Tuesday in Tampa. Please keep Donnie, Donna, Ed (Donna's husband) who is a rock thru all of this, Lynn (Donnie's partner), and Dixie in your prayers. I am in close contact with the family and will keep you updated. I designed a flyer and emailed it to Nancy and Joe to send to everybody to keep you all reminded that's it's about time to finalize your plans to attend our 50th year reunion in October. Hope you received it. If you're out of state, make your plane reservations before fares go up!

I'll be there a few days early in case you need help with any plans or decorating. Everybody join in this forum and let us know of any ideas you may have. Lakeside is a sure thing and we can include something else the next 2 days.
