Kathleen M. Connor, 65, of Bloomington, died at 11:10pm Friday (July 20, 2012) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

Her graveside service will be at 11:00am July 30 at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bloomington, with Monsignor Douglas Hennessey officiating.  Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials made be made to the Humane Society of Central Illinois.

She was born May 8, 1947, in Bloomington, the daughter of William F. and Ethel M. Sherman Connor.

Surviving are two brothers, Michael (Zanna) Conner, Bloomington, and Thomas (Cindy) Connor, Bartlett; two sisters, Gail (David) Kirkwood, Bloomington, and Jane (Ron) Mattingly, Normal; seven nieces and nephews; two step-sisters, ConniePeterson, Panama Beach, Florida and Karen Johnson, Liberty, Iowa; and, a step-brother, Elwood (Marge) Arnold, Chicago.

She was preceeded in deth by her parents and a sister, Susan.

Kathy graduated from Trinity High School in 1965, earned her registered nursing degree from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Springfield and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the Mennonite School of Nursing.  She worked as an ICU Nurse in Springfield, Champaign and Bloomington.

Kathy was a member of several nursing organizations.  She was an avid University of Illinois football and basketball fan, and she loved her dog, Molly.
