“One Dead, Two Hurt in Head-On Crash”

A 22 year old Bloomington woman was killed and two other persons were seriously injured in a head-on collision at 1:30am Saturday on US 66 near McLean.  Dead at the scene was Miss Julieanne Quinn of 1005 N. Madison, driver of one of the cars.  She was northbound in the southbound lanes of Route 66 when she collided head-on with a car driven by Elvis Breedlove, 27, of Oswego.  He was listed in critical condition Saturday at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Also injured was Cynthia Baker, 21, of 209 E. Olive, a passenger in the Quinn automobile.  Both were listed in critical condition Saturday at St. Joseph’s.

Miss Quinn’s 1960 Buick and Mr. Breedlove’s 1969 Dodge collided about 300 feet north of the entrance of the Dixie Truck Stop at McLean.  Both cars were totally demolished.

An Illinois State Trooper had spotted Miss Quinn driving in the southbound lane and pursued her for about two miles, but was unable to stop her before she collided with the other car.

Her funeral will be at 8:00am Monday at the Flynn Funeral Home and 9:00am at Holy Trinity Church.  Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Normal.  Visitation will be from 2-4:00 and 7-9:00pm today at the funeral home.  The Rosary will be recited at 8:00pm tonight.

She was born May 25, 1947 in Bloomington, a daughter of Eldon and Mary Turner Quinn.  Surviving are her grandparents, 1005 N. Madison.

She was a 1965 graduate of Trinity High School and was employed with Modine Manufacturing.  She was a member of Holy Trinity Church
