Robert Lamkin Glass

Robert L. “Bob” Glass, 61, Normal, passed away at 2:30am Monday (November 2, 2009) at his home on his and his wife’s 35th wedding anniversary.

His funeral will be at 1:30pm Friday Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home with the Reverend Ric Schneider officiating.  Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington.  Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00pm Thursday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Church, Bloomington.

Bob was born November 15, 1947 in Bloomington the son of Joseph N, and M. Kathleen Lamkin Glass.  He married Mary Ann Boudeman on November 2, 1974 in Bloomington.  She survives.

He is also survived by two sons, Trevis Robert (Erin) Glass and Michael Elliott (Amy) Glass, both of Normal; two grandchildren, Kyle Robert Glass and Addsyon Wrigley Glass; one sister, Donna (Mike) Lutz, Evans City, PA; one brother, Dennis Glass, Montgomery, AL; an aunt, Marcella Curry, Bloomington, and several nieces and nephews, including four locally, Sherry (Trevis) Phillips, and Vickie (Brad) Nelson, Donn (Judy) Stevens, and Lee Stevens III.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Joe Glass, Jr., and a sister, Regina Stevens Engel.

Bob attended Trinity High School, Bloomington and Illinois State University, Normal.  He was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the Military Police, and received the Army Accommodation Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation, and a Bronze Star.  Bob had previously worked at Steak-n-Shake, NAPA Auto Parts and was currently employed as an assembly line operator at Mitsubishi Motors.

Bob loved the outdoors, working in the yard, growing flowers and creating bird houses.  He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and all sports, especially the Chicago Cubs and Bears.  He will be greatly missed by all who loved him and called him Honey, Dad, Grandpa, Uncle and friend.
