Betty, you don't know how many times I have had to plead the 5th to the boys. Those were the days.. Right Lori??

Mark, I haven't talked to Scott for a long time. I know he's still involved in Music and has a band. But that's about all I know. As a matter of fact He still hasn't checked in on this sight for an update.

Speaking of my old friend Aubrey, I have tried over the years to get him to come to the reunions and he has not, please everyone who knew him give him a call and ask him to join us. His cell is 612-759-6192 and don't tell him I posted this.

OK, Jeff, I lied, those were the days. Isn't that some kind of song, too?

Oh, that, sorry. My bad. (Don't worry Jeff - your secrets are still safe with me) unless someone out there has a few bucks for a bribe?

Nothing that I would be ashamed to admit. Like I have said lots of great memories.

This Alice Cooper concert was definatly at the civic center. It was 11th or 12 grade. I went with Steve Anderson & Curt Ritter. Anyone that might have been there would definatly remember because everyone was in panic mode trying to get outside. Somebody else had to have been there??

This would be a good time to echo Matt Harris's request from last night & invite all the "Lurkers" or "Stalkers" isn't that what Tracy's kids called her? All of you that just reading along, to throw your comments into the mix.

And Cindy that was kind of the end of an era in Bloomington when they plowed under that cornfield & build those apartments. The vegetable stand was gone shortly after that. I think that was about the last farm field on the east side of Bloomington. West Bloomington was able to hang on a bit longer.

It must have been a different one then, I remember walking to the met for that concert. Are you talking about the one where Alice Cooper started the show on a bed singing welcome to my nightmare?

Steve Town

I remember the stage was set up like a TV screen & at the beginning of a song a movie would show on the sceen & then they would break into a song

I felt the tear gas at about the same time the lead guitar did cuz he leaned onto one of the TV knobs

After many phone calls back and forth, I met with the DJ for a couple of hours and we put together a great set list of music for all to enjoy. It will be fun. Tom Kumpf

Yes, the Alice Cooper concert I went to was for sure at the Met. You had seats on the floor, didn't you Jeff? Were you with Aubrey? I remember seeing you when the lights came up between bands. Thank God no tear gas at that one!

08/15/08 06:13 PM #335

Lori A. Tuchscherer (Broadhead)

Just curious how the hell you could smell tear gas through all the other "aromas" at a rock concert in the 70's?

08/15/08 06:14 PM #336

Jeffrey S. Richards

Lori, Thank you, I was starting to think those days had more of an effect on me than I had previously thought. Yes it was Aubrey, he and I went to alot of concerts, I just have a problem remembering.

08/15/08 06:21 PM #337

Steve Town

If you would have been at the concert at the civic center you would have felt it not smelt it. The seats were completely empty when it was felt on the floor and people were running every where. Getting stepped on. Alice Cooper & his band stopped in the middle of the song. This was general admission at the civic center in our senior year. Sorry I brought it up

If it makes you feel any better, I may remember seeing you there, but I don't have a friggin clue who I was at that concert with! Talk about brain cells.........

Jeffrey S. Richards

no reason to be sorry, I was starting to question my memory. Glad I wasn't at the concert that would have been terrible.

Jeffrey S. Richards

Lori, you are just too nice, you haven't changed abit.

08/15/08 06:25 PM #341

Lori A. Tuchscherer (Broadhead)

I was just kidding, Steve! Poking fun at the times we grew up in.

What a crappy way to clear an arena. Did they ever start playing again? Why tear gas in the first place?

I am going to have to stop all this fun for a while, I am just starting my day (Saturday) and going to head down for some breakfast then off to the airport to catch a flight to Guangzhou, I think is is only a 45 minute flight but all of the security it will probably be an all day affair.

Marilyn L. Gould (VanOsdel)

I'm three hours behind you guys in Minnesota. It's over 100 degrees outside here in Southwest Washington (not usual), we're heading to the lake. What kind of weather is Bloomington expecting next weekend, anyone?

08/15/08 06:36 PM #344

Steve Town

No the concert was over at that point. No one could even go back into the arena. The cops & fire dept were everywhere. People were getting taken off to the hospital after being trampled. It was a mess. I don't know if they ever caught who was behind it
