You should all know that I would love to have visitors.

I'm really trying to get Steve and Jeff 3 weeks off from work, paid and without having to use vacation time. I figure if I can make that happen (now that's California dreamin') they will owe me a visit. Plus, don't you guys get cheap airfare?

That puts me in the luggage compartment.
Sounds like a band trip all over again!

So not to change the subject but since we have talked about seeing concerts I have to talk about the one we saw last night. David Byrne of Talking Heads fame. If you like any of his stuff you would have loved this concert. He sounded as good as he ever did "same as it ever was" and is an awesome performer. We got there early and just hung out and listened to the sound check from the front row for an hour or so. Nothing quite like hearing several renditions of Burning Down the House in a croud of 10 people.
So then there is the venue, Hunphreys by the Bay on Shelter Island here in San Diego. It only seats a few hundred ?? people. Every seat is reasonably close to the stage. If you don't want to sit in a chair on the lawn you can get a hotel room and watch the concert, still being very close to the stage from your hotel balcony. This was my first time at this venue and I had no idea how cool it would be.

PS Jeff, pretty soon you will be able to marry your neighbor's dog here in California so it was a good idea to offer the disclaimer about a proposal as you did.

PSS Doug, you and I need to get together whether anybody comes out here to visit or not.

Steve, this sounds like the beginning of a plan. Ask your boss if you can have 3 weeks off paid leave.

As for the fall colors run, it was left with Steve and he fell off the earth somewhere 2 weeks ago. I was ready but the leader of the pack ran away!

I will be in a cast, but still plan on heading out again, this week was crazy with kids and things, so i did not get many colors in other than blue and gold at the game friday.

Gosh, You all sound like you are having too much fun there in MN! I am still trying to get contractors to my house to repair it from IKE. They are so busy, no one wants to help, YIKES! Maybe this week someone will finally show up! Keep having fun, it is great to read the posts and see what you all are up to, ENJOY!

Maybe someday, if we ever move back to the great North, we can join in on the fun!

10/06/08 01:52 PM #610

Dona M. Trabant (Inman)

Kirk - always the MC thanks for being there!

Michelle-sorry bout IKE, but if you were here you would only deal with misquitos! Althoe, you do not have to MOVE back to MN, (but it would be highly recommended) to come visit and join in.

10/06/08 04:49 PM #611

Michelle Franz (Lisser)

Speaking of mosquitos---we had the nast Marsh mosquitos that IKE blew in ( I recall the same nasty varmits the last hurricane blew in) They were HUGE, and actually jumped on you like swarms when you went out!! It was horrendous, but they are GONE now, just the run of the mill pests left!

10/06/08 07:01 PM #612

Dona M. Trabant (Inman)

I will still take mosquitos over roaches - especially tree roaches any day (scorpions too) my visits to Texas all have critters in them

Jeff, we talked a few months back, thought you had my cell #. 951-536-5558 Julie? Julie? Oh yeah, JULIE. I would NEVER ignore you, you know that!

10/12/08 08:29 PM #616

Dona M. Trabant (Inman)

Julie, ya gotta remember, Doug is "Mr Popular" with all the girls all over him, you have to do something special to get his attention! (don't ask me what works though - never figured it out!)

And Doug, I was NEVER sleeping in the bus. I was too busy getting sick because Flatten took me on some Horrific rides!
