I heard all the stadiums are going up around here so we can have the olympics in MN. Could just be rumor and I'm helping to spread it!

I think that a retractable roof is probably the only way to accommodate the lovely Minnesota weather, football or baseball, -20 or 95 and humid. although football perhaps, should be played in cold weather. Right Brett?

Bret C. Corbin

I don't remember what cold weather is.

Thanks for the response, fellow Californian Bret, But I meant Brett Favre (you know, the guy from "Something about Mary"). Sorry for the confusion. Come to think of it, I have never seen him post on this forum. Probably because he's 39 and didn't graduate from Kennedy. Maybe I'm confused! Must be the heat.

All this talk about 50!!! Whoaaaa! Ha

Anyhoo.... Just a notice that I may be subletting my NYC digs from Sept thru the end of the year if anyone is interested.

It's a small one bedroom off CPW on 70th St... top floor of historic brownstone... quiet... clean... not terribly fancy... but everything you need, great location etc. Some of you told me you have kids maybe going to the city this year etc, so thought it might be of interest for a full time or pt place to stay.

Going rate is $2055 but for classmates $1850 for per month or 500 per week if I don't find someone for the entire term.

Give a heads up if ur interested... my email: catchycopy@gmail.com.

Meanwhile, hope ur all having a great summer! I'll def be back for some fried stuff on sticks at the fair.

All the stadium talk got me thinking about shoveling at the old Met Stadium before Viking games. They made announcements over the PA at school if it had snowed prior to a game. Throwing snow off the upper level decks was so fun (if you could dump it onto a person) Does anyone else remember that??? Tami Melchisedech and I answere the call to shovel a few times.

Thats okay Steve, I get that way if I don't get my coffee and time on the lake fishing!! :)

Jen, shoveling the met? Did I skip THAT much?? Never remember that one...???? The mind, it TIS a funny thing!

Dona,

Jen has the sublet, Kim and Tami shoveled the met. Get some coffee!

Jen,

Nice location on the sublet, I have stayed at the Mayflower Hotel many times, back in the music biz days, excellent Rollerblading in the park and Tavern on the green access. Good luck with that! I've not been there for 10 yrs or so, all these thoughts have me jonesing!

Steve,

join me for a cup of coffee with amareto (cream!) for flavor - the joneses will go away! Better yet-- pull out the skiing pics -- and go stick your head in a freezer, close your eyes and breath deep. Worked for me when i worked in the restaraunt biz. Good hiding place.

Cream? Wasn't that an old Prince song?

Don't relapse Steve, I've been to way to many funerals lately. Also, I'm back on the wagon again after my short relapse. Feels good.

Peace

Not sure about the Prince song, but it sounds kinda dirty and that's not really my thing. I only like nice Prince songs like "Darling Nikki", however, "White room" and "Sunshine of your love" are Cream songs.

Happy 50th birthday Hawaii. You don't look a day over 35

Adam Lee,

Have a piece of birthday cake for me. Also, What's up with the protests?? and what's your take , if any??

08/23/09 06:51 PM #965

Adam Fka Kim Lee

Hey John:

Yup, Hawaii celebrated its 50th birthday as a U.S. state.

I'm not too sure what protests you're referring to, but I'm guessing you saw something about folks here protesting during the Admissions Day holiday.

From what little I understand and recall, there is a local, vocal minority that objected to Hawaii becoming a state in the first place. And they're bringing it up again.

Personally, I can sympathize with some of their views since history isn't too kind to the U.S. Unfortunately there is not enough room or time here for me to articulate it fully. I can go on forever!

Hi Adam,

That's pretty much what I suspected.

To all of those either directly or indirectly affected by the California wild fires, just a note to let you know that you are in a LOT of people's thoughts and prayers.

Stay strong

John I am with you on this. I look over the map every time the news is on to see who I know in the area. It is all too scary!

We will all pray for rain and NO wind for Cali.

Sue -- have one for me, I am gone fishing!!
