Things have been getting really exciting around our house lately.

My wife, Melissa Halvorson Wiklund, is running for Bloomington School Board.

If you live in Bloomington or drive through Bloomington, you may have seen her signs. Or you may have seen letters of support for her in the three most recent issues of the Bloomington Sun Current.

Take a look at the first picture on my Profile Page to see her campaign handout literature.

Many of you still live in Bloomington, and I'm sure most of you still know a lot of friends and family who live in Bloomington.

I hope you can help us get out the word about what a great candidate she would be. She grew up in Bloomington and benefited from a terrific education in the Bloomington schools (as we all did). Now she wants to give back to the community by serving on the Bloomington School Board. She's continued to have strong involvement with the Bloomington education system as our kids have gone through the schools here. She has professional leadership experience as an engineering director in the internet services industry.

There are fifteen candidates, including four incumbents, running for four open board slots. Turnout for school board elections is usually light, so every single vote counts!! The election is November 3.

Thanks,

Craig

Hi Gang,

Just wondering if anybody out there knows and can vouch for someone looking for a place to stay?

I have a basement bedroom and private 3/4 bath that I am looking to rent for $500.00 per month that includes utilities. Convenient location (86th and 2nd ave in Bloomington) No pets or smokers please

Jeff Richards was kind enough to hang up some flyers for me at work but I've had no luck so far. I also posted it on craigslist and got responses from Peru, 2 from India, 1 from South Dakota and 2 women from England that wanted to see a photo of me first.

I did not respond.

Let me know if I can help someone out

Craig Wiklund, Maybe we could make a classifieds section on this website............Just an idea

I've had a list of people that have passed away that aren't on the "In Memory of list". I did send a message to Craig one time about Rick Rose being dead, and was told with-out an obituary to go along with it he wouldn't post it. I think they just want to make sure, so someone's not posted who is actually alive. I hope Keven's still alive, he grew up right behind my house and was a childhood friend. :o)

Rick passed away from a heart attack about 7 or 8 years ago.

I was at the funeral. Very sad. Too many young people gone too early

Speaking of the Sports Page, Many of you may remember watching Laurel and Hardy movies on Sunday mornings with John Gallos. What you probably DON'T know is that there is a brand new Laurel and Hardy appreciation club called "Sons of the Desert" that meets at the Sports Page on the 2nd monday of every month.

My brother and I are members and it's a LOT of fun. Cocktails and dinner ordered from the Sports Page menu from 5:30 to 6:30, a short meeting and then a few L&H short movies. Usually done by around 9:00 p.m. All the different "tents" around the country and the world are named after L&H movies. Ours is called "Brats"

If any of you are interested let me know and I can hook you up with the Grand Sheik, Matt Wise, who happens to be a teacher at Kennedy.

Yearly dues are $25.00 for a single or $35.00 for a family membership.

It's good to laugh.........It certainly is!

Hi Everyone.

May i ask who plans on attending the Nov 27th get together at the Sports Bar. I have recently been working on hooking up with some of you, it is a slower process for me because with every person i get in touch with my mind goes way back there and come's up with all these events and places and faces. It has been overwhelming for me! I have been out of the area since 97 and i have learned that the (area, most all of you) is very much still a part of me.
For some of you, we go all the way back to 1st grade!

Thanks!! Kent

Is it poss to put a link inside your announcment, where one could just put their name, so that everyone could check there and Ref others that have not yet found this site, i know there are many.

Thank you!
