Craig L. Wiklund

We wrapped up the Bloomington School Board campaign with an exciting evening on Election Day, Nov 3.

There were fourteen candidates, including four incumbents, running for four board positions.

My wife, Melissa Halvorson Wiklund, received 3561 votes, which was 533 more than the next-highest finisher, who was one of the incumbents. I'm really proud of how hard she worked on the campaign.

Thanks to all of you who emailed or called to support her, and offered spots on your lawns for signs!

Well........shortly thereafter.

Remember, the legal drinking age WAS 19 back then.

Of course back then SportsPage only served 3.2 beer

For those of you who were in American Studies class, you can find this on Facebook. They were such great teachers.

Tom Siebold and Woody Bjork Warped My Mind

As a result of an odd hybrid history/English class at John F. Kennedy High, your mind was permanently warped – usually for the better – by teachers Tom Siebold and Woody Bjork. You learned about Nixon from the SNL skit. You met them when they were dropped off by a police officer on the first day. You can still recite dialogue from the symbolism masterpiece Cool Hand Luke. These subversive masterminds left you smarter, bolder, and unquestionably more twisted, and for that we thank them.

So, Kirk, you have FINALLY been introduced to the grand ole' SPORTS PAGE -- what cha think???

SEP -- yes, it was safe to go back - really, did not have to wait 25 years to test the water thoe!

Betty, Mike and all the rest -- GOOD to see you all.

Gotta make this a once a month thing somewhere.
Maybe a pre-Christmas get together mid December.
Lets try Shanty town next time.

Very nice Dona...I found out the Polson family is related to half of Bloomington and that Mike Doran knows the other half!

It was fun talking sports at the Page for 3 hours!

Dona M. Trabant (Inman)

Too funny Kirk!

It was fun sitting back and listening to them realize they were related!! And I said I left a small town for that reason!! Scary!

It was fun. Lets do it mid December again....

I wish I had checked this posting before I came home for Thanksgiving. I saw all those photos of Sportspage, and realized you had that get together while I was visiting from No. Virginia. Didn't find out until the day after. :(

Guess I need to check the site more often,
