Konnichiwa! With all this talk of us turning into OLD FARTS, has there been any plans made for a get together for our 50th B-day's. I just want to make sure that I can take vacation time with the shedule I have this year. I have miss numerous get-togethers due to work and don't want to miss this!!!

Jeff -

as for the Big Bash I was under the impression it was going to be during the FIREMANS tournament

ask Carol Rickard Schultz jcis4me@hotmail.com

I was trying to help but don;t know what happened.

My suggestions was to start with the firemans - then to the eagles -- Saturday we could all do a softball at Wrights Lake - there is a play ground for the kids - plenty of parking and a port a potty !! It is not a diamond used in leagues any more.

As for the sunday portion - I think that would probably end up small groups doing brunch or gulf due to the travelers ....

just my input -- have been trying to put in to stone since last year -- can we take votes????

Yeah, I'm looking forward to the 50th birthday bash too, so I hope it materializes! I just need to know when it will happen way ahead of time so I can make travel arrangements.

Lets take a vote

should we do it over Bloomington Firemans Softball in July

or

over the Aquatennial in August?

Feed back please ....

Those of us that live here most likely do both anyway - so we can do gatherings for BOTH - we can set dates and times for group activities - if people want to golf or something that needs a t-time we can work on that too --

i am still up for the midnight golf ...

suggestions out of towners???

I'm up for Fireman's weekend - it seems like a lot of people plan a summer return around that weekend.

Good Idea Kirk ---

Still think we should do softball on Saturday round noon?

It is not called the Thunderbird anymore thoe-- drove by it everyday -- cant recall the new name?? Ramada??

Other input -- lets rally and lock in the date now !

July may be a better idea since kids start school and college in Aug and it gets hectic around Aug Sept. So mid July may be easier for folks to get away and attend the 50th.

Jack & I think the Fireman's dates would be great - we'll be here / there!

What about the idea of having it at a campground. I was told that there are campgounds near the cities. I don't remember who thought of it, but it was a good idea. We could start Friday night and stay until Sunday. We could plan different activities. Saturday night could be music, food etc. If you want to camp you can, or go home at the end of the night.

It would be great to not have to pack it all in to one night.

That is my wish for our 50th birthday party.

What kind of activities? Perhaps a Tug of war, Dodge ball, Snipe hunt, Hide and go seek? Camping sounds good to me!

OK, I am not a camping sort of person and forgot all that camping entails. I haven't been camping since I was 17. It was pointed out to me and I guess it could be a little rough. I just thought it would be fun to be together for 2 days. No rush to pack it all in. I'm open to whatever happens. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Carol L Rickard (Schultz)

Great ideas about camping and having other activities. Unfortunately, if it is Fireman's weekend, I can't be there. I will be out of town. The weekend before that would be great for me or the end of July. I was trying to find out when the Fireman's weekend was. Never got an answer until now. If you all decide to do it that weekend, I hope you all have a great time! Wish I could be there with you.

What a bunch of Great Ideas I like them all! Kirk has a great idea Firemans then we could turn the Thunderbird into, lets say several hundred hospitality rooms.
And if there are people that want to further the week and go camping lets do that too. I am going to plan the whole week off so as long as I can ride the Harley during one of these events I will be happy happy happy!

Did I tell anyone that I will be spending my Birthday in March in Ho Chi Mihn City (Saigon) Vietnam? How SWEET is that? 6 Fabulous filled days in a country rich in history. Actually I hear it is really a cool place to visit and cannot wait. 2 Birthdays in one year, NICE!

I'm still interested! Just been real busy! As with Adam, I'll need some warning to make travel arrangements!
