Okay I am thinking of organizing a Twins outing on July 17th or 18th while people are in town. If we get enough people we can do a group. We would need 25 or more. Let me know your thoughts on this, which date would be better. I am thinking Saturday the 17th!

I would be all over a Twins game.
I was at Target Field for the Gophers exhibition / Open House as well as the first game against the St. Louis Cardinals.

For Minnesota baseball fans it is like walking into the Taj Mahal.............It is absolutely stunning!!
There aren't many bad seats at all and a group rate for the outfield bleachers would be very reasonable (under $20.00 I think)

Count me in!!!

Okay we can reserve seats for 25 or more people. John is right! Tickets in the grandstand seats would be about $25.00 bucks a piece. If we got a minimum of 36 people we could do a suite with ticket, food and drinks for $111 a piece on Friday or Sunday (16th or 18th) or $145.00 on Saturday.

To reserve the cheaper seats there is no deposit and it has to be paid full 3 weeks prior whereas the suite requires a $500 deposit and has to be paid in full 3 weeks prior. I am up for both and can handle the arrangements.

OOO! We could also do the grandstand seats and all meet for refreshments before the game at Hrbek's restaurant?!!!!

I've been in Hrbek's.
It barely seats 36 people.(just kidding)
It is smaller than I thought it would be........But very cool. Great pictures. Make sure you look at the ceiling....Nice touch
Betty, I'll sit next to you if Sue doesn't want to :)

What a great time 12 fellow Class of 78'ers had last Friday. Blasko, Dressen, Sorenson, Lind, Scanlon, Bjerke, McArdle, Amato, Hrbek, Boelter, Dave Johnson and myself got together to play golf in honor of John Amato's 50th, and followed that up with dinner and drinks at Cuzzy's in Chaska. After being taunted by a bunch of 8-10 year olds, our group of 50 and near 50 year olds took them on in a wiffle ball game (it's pretty cool, they have a wiffle ball field right there, complete with fence). OK, we lost, but we had a tremendous time - check out John's profile for a few pics.

Just to add a couple of hilarious moments to the evening's wiffle ball game - Wade cut off a Sorensen relay throw with his forehead, which left a mark we could still see a couple of hours later.  The very next batter (mind you, they were 8-10-year olds) sent a hot shot back at Wade, who was pitching and caught him right in the "man area!"  We couldn't stop convulsing from laughter!  We should also mention that Mac tried to strike out but was reminded that there are no strike outs in wiffle ball.  By the way, Wade "Wild Thing" Boelter threw the one and only gopher ball to a 10-year old and the kid sent it over the left field fence and onto the hood of my car!  Only one beer was sacrificed during the whole game!  Thanks to all for the great wishes and fun!

The pictures are awesome!! I think I could tell who everyone is, so that is a good thing!!

Looking forward to seeing ALL of you throughout the events in July.

Still taking ideas!!!

I love the baseball game idea!! Either the twins or saints works!

I will update the main post but for the Sunday soft ball -- the field is reserved.

There is enough room for softball, 2 tennis courts, can set up that golf ball/ladder game,

a big play ground for the kids, bring munchies and drinks, there is a port-a-pottie....

For those of you that knew my Dad from CHi Chi's, I thought I would mention that he passed away.  His health had been declining quickly, he was living in the memory care of Centennial House of Apple Valley for the last year.  I flew back & forth to MN 3 times in the last 3 weeks to handle things with him and for him.  He did come down with pneumonia the first weekend I was there, he went into the hospital, and then I put him on Hospice.  I found a wonderful Hospice House, The Lodge, in Burnsville.  ( in the summit oaks neighborhood)  If you have a loved one that needs Hospice, I woudl recommend The Lodge.  They are phenomenal there.  They took such excellent care of my dad his last 4 days, I cannot praise that place enough!

I know there were a few people in our graduating class that worked at CHi CHis or Max's and may have known my dad/  We had a very nice Obituary in both the Pioneer Press & Msp Trib on May 6th. (  if you want to read it)

My Dad had been suffereing from Dementia Lewy Bodies, which is similar to Alzheimer's but much more agressive.  We are working with 2 pathologists to hopefuklly find out more about that crippling & agressive disease that took his life literally within the 5 yeaer period of trying to slow it down.

May my Dad finally rest in peace!

Shelly

Hi Shelly=

My Dad also spend his last 5 weeks at The Lodge in Elko, MN.  They

are great people who do wonderful things.  Very hard to lose our parents.

Your Dad is in a much better place-Take Care

Thanks Jill for your nice comments.  I know GOd would have had it the way he did, since my sisters and I were all with dad in his last minutes of life.  I was on the I-Phone, my two sisters Tam & Ter were on each side of him, holding his hands.  We were kind of shuttling him out of this world to heaven---I will have to say , as tramatic as it was-- I was there with him-- we were giving him our Ok to go--to leave, and for that...gosh I can only thank my sisters for calling me and I was able to be a part of that  beautiful but tragic scene.  I was able to sing Amazing Grace to him, and Turn Your Eyes upon Jesus---It was truely unforgetable.

It is kind of funny, when he was in the hospital for the 2 days, he was on floor 3 / the room I picked out for him at the hospice--room 3 /  he died with his " 3" daughters at his side, and were in the triangle of love----kind of triune--- celebrating the Father, Son, Holy Ghost...It was unforgetable..

Although I look a mess-- I made a video clip of the trip from the hospital to the lodge in B' ville.  It seemed the last time I was with him, I cried a lot!

It is on my YOUTUBE Page with a lot of other videos I have made over the last 2 years of my dad :

Shelly,

I commend you for such a beautiful send off. Most people, especially parents do not get a beautiful send off until after they are gone. In a way, I was very lucky, both my parents died quicky and without illness.

I have always lived with the idea of "APPRECIATE ALL TODAY FOR THERE MAY NOT BE A TOMORROW" My ex-husband hated that, but it is so true.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us.  It is very tearful, yet hopeful. You are very blessed.

Hey all,

Here is a link that you can get tickets from for our band's show next Saturday, May 22nd. You can also get tickets at the door. It is a CD release party, Andy Lindquist is the band leader and this is his 4th CD.
There is another band playing as well as the owner of Willy's guitar doing a cameo.
It's at the Shakopee Ballroom at 8:00 and is for all ages. Adult beverages will be available as well as some food like pizza, hot dogs and nachos..
Come out and rock!

Scott

your sample song sounds great-- almost " Air Supply" like in some ways!

( I loved Air Supply, so that is a compliment)

yeah he does have an Air Supply sort of sound on that, most of his music is more rock.

He can sound like Neil Young, The Who, Beach Boys and others too.

Hope some of you peeps can make it out Saturday. We even have The City Pages coming out to review us!

50th July reunion week! Saturday July 10th is for the Motorcycle Ride….
Hope all is well with everyone! It is now May and July is approaching fast and so is the nice summer weather we all have been waiting for…

So plan on marking down on your calendar of event Saturday July 10th Motorcycle ride along the banks of the Mighty Mississippi. There is a Map of the ride on my profile.

Meet at JFK parking lot at 10:00 A.M. we will depart at 10:30 A.M.

The whole ride travel time is about 3 ½ hours long so leaving plenty of time for several stops to see the cliffs and river from various vantage points of interest. As well leaving time after the ride to get together for a BBQ and Camaraderie at my house after the ride or if youd rather go to some where else let me know. The plan is to be done with the ride about 5-6 P.M.
We will start at the school then head over to Prescott Wisconsin and start to head south from there. Stopping in towns like Diamond Bluff, Maiden Rock, Nelson.Cross over to Wabashaw (Minnesota) and then back home north through Redwing and Hastings... Let me know if you plan on going on this ride please so we can plan food and drink for everyone!

Thanks Rod, See you all soon
