Hi Y'all!

Would have loved seeing everyone this last summer.  Oh, well, that's what you get living out of state.  Can't come too often.  I was there briefly at the end of December 2010 for my grandmother's 100th birthday!  Go Granny!  She still has her own house, cooked Thanksgiving dinner, can walk, hear, see and talk without a waiver!  And boy!  Talk about a memory!  I wish I had a tape recorder!  I hope I take after her!  I'm looking forward to the next reunion. Count down to 2013 for me!

Marilyn --

you are SOO lucky to have not only a grandmother in such good health but a huge part of history.

I always said I was going to sit down with a tape recorder with Aunt Marie when she hit 100 and have her talk about history.  She died just before 105 -- I never recorded history and I regret this.

Take a video of her!! Talk about electricity, the telephone, the car!! ... have it for your grandkids!

Marilyn-- WOW, that is great to hear about your grandma; since I saw my Dad decline so fast, I am just so amazed & appreciative of what those who are in their later years are doing, accomplishing, and living virtually on their own-- IT IS AMAZING to say the least!  Relish in that!  And I think Dona is correct, def tape her!  It will be so invaluable for you in the future years, and/or your kids.  My sisters still have the IPHONE recordings of my Dad's last minutes of life, while the three of us girls were with him in his last dying minutes.  It is so phenomenal to hear it, and heart wretching to see-- but I am so grateful and can't believe tht they captured him actually going to heaven as far as I am concerned, and unbeknowst to them that it would be his last breaths!  Just so valuable footage for me to show my kids when they get a little bigger and can handle it-- because my youngest twin was actually talking to my dad, whic makes it even more of a precious thing to have, seeing hiis responses to her as he knew he was dying.  Unbelievable.

So anytime you can capture something on film, it is an heirloom indeed!

Wade Boelter-- HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!  Hope you all that are stil in MN celebrate with him!

FYI-- My family will be leaving the warmth of Texas and heading for Ohio in/around June.  My husband took a new job with Continental/ United there-- so "Shelly is heading back to the COLD country" ---ARGH!  at least when I first get there--- summer!  It will help me ease back into the 4 seasons!

Take care everyone-- Life is hectic lately,  but God is good to us here in Texas!  No complaints from me, I have been blessed indeed!

Michelle,

1-- Tell Hubby CONGRATs on the new job. Some of know how hard it is to get one now days

2 -- GOOD Luck with the move! You could of come all the way back to MN!!

3 -- Yes, recordings are something else! To just hear that voice again is comforting.

Take care and travel safe!

HAPPY LANDING! (so to speak!)

Hi all,

I love this website! I have never been back to MN for a reunion. I was never notified for most of them. Now it is fun to see the pictures and catch up on everyone's lives!!

I would like to request some prayers. Two spots were just on found on my daughter's brain. She has battled migraines for the last 17 years and the spots are to be unrelated. My son is facing major back surgery next month. He will have his vertebrate fused, rods put in, repairs done, and something with a herniated disc. My daughter-in-law has bulged discs in her neck, but suffers in silence. As a mom, I am beside myself. It would just be comforting to have more prayers going out to my children. Thank you with all my heart! Cindy

 Cindy,

All of your family will be in our prayers.  Our second son was born with a brain tumor and we have had 21 years of dealing with his blindness and neurological issues.  Despite all of the predictions and prognosis, he is attending the local community college.  The prayers from family and friends helped us tremendously.  If you would like to chat about anything, we would love to discuss.  I know for us, it seemed like we were the only family going through cancer issues with an infant at the time and we were very naive.

Cynthia,

I am speachless. My heart goes out to you. It is hard enough having medical issues with one child, let alone multiple.  I can not imagine your strife.

All our prayers will be with you and yours. You have a beautiful family and I can not fathem loosing one.  (my grandaughter thinks your son is 'cute'!) She is 11 going on 17!

If you need to bend an ear feel free. I am always here. I lost a daughter at 5 1/2 to trysomy 18 many years ago.

I am on facebook too.

take care

My son's 5 hour surgery went well. We found out new problems we need to follow through on. He had some set backs and we had to stay in the hospital for 2 & 1/2 days longer than expected. He has been sick since he has been home. I think now we are finally on the road to recovery. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THE PRAYERS!!!!  I know that they made a difference.

Thanks, CJ

My parents have a status update from Takahiro Tsu:

March 19, 2011

Dear Mom & Dad,

Thank you so much for your concern.

Our family is OK since we live in the western part of Japan, but things have been very touch on the east coast of Honshu, which was directly hit by a 9.0 magnitute earthquake followed by a huge tsunami just a week ago.
We could somehow manage to get through the devastation caused by Kobe-Hanshin Earthquake in 1995, but this time things have been much worse as you can see on the news.

My elder brother and his family live in the Tokyo metropolitan area, so we are very concerned about the pending dangers of nuclear pollution caused by Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant.

Please keep us and our country in your daily prayer.
Give our best regards to your family and friends.

Sincerely,

Takahiro and Yasuko Tsu

Thanks Ken for the update on Takahiro.  I have been wondering about him and his family.  My daughters have a friend, newly married, who are missionaries in Tokyo.  Such a tragedy and great loss!

Happy birthday Dona!

Hello Class of '78-

I hope this message finds you all well.

I join the site today as the bearer of some awfully sad news; Pam Torgersen (Bjerke) passed away 4/2/2011. Pam fought a courageous eleven year battle with breast cancer beginning in early 2000 when she was diagnosed at stage three. Her strength, resolve, selflessness, sweetness and caring has been an inspiration to us all. Please keep her husband Jim (my brother), daughter Cara (14), and best friend Brenda Sams (Pilger) (JFK class of '78) in your thoughts. Our class just took a serious hit. Pam was the best; I was fortunate to have her in my life...

Sincerely- Pete Bjerke
