School Story:

When I was a junior at the Naval Academy, I was walking across the yard one day and ran into Roger Staubach, who was doing some sort of taping of "Former Heisman Winner and Super Bowl Champion Roger Staubach returns to his alma mater!" So I got my 15 minutes of fame.

Very sad news indeed. Heidi & I were friends from kindergarten- I remember her big house on Southern Blvd. from when we were kids, and her Mom was a Room Mother in many of our classes at Market Street. So long old friend.

Cannot help myself! Here is another picture of the twins, along with Pop-pop, Daddy, and their two brothers - I'm holding 5-year-old Ness with Isaac Shirizawa (Zak - 6 lb 4 oz), and Trevor is holding 3-year-old Kai with Makoto Williams (Mak - 4 lb 10 oz)). All are home, and Mom Vanessa is a bit sore but is fine and recovering.

Unbeknownst to us, the sewing circle at Sycamore Presbyterian Church in Symmes Township, OH, aka “The Sewciables,” began making these quilts when they found out Karen & I were expecting twin grandsons. The leader of the group gave them to me this morning; Zak & Mak will be warm this winter. I was hoping to win Peg’s quilt for them at the reunion, but God had something else in mind. Thanks, Ladies!
