Jayne Freece (Rion)

SHOKAN- Jayne Rion, 60, of Shokan died suddenly Sunday, May 16, 2021, in Amsterdam, N.Y. She was born March 23, 1961 in Saddlebrook, N.J.; daughter of Dorothy Lewis Freece Symons and the late James Freece. She was a long time resident of Olivebridge, and a graduate of Onteora High School. Jayne worked as a Claims Representative at United Health Care for over 35 years. She had an appreciation of nature, and enjoyed camping and fishing in the lakes and reservoirs. Jayne had a deep well of emotions, and was an individual who cared about people and animals. She had been a member of the Olive Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and enjoyed NASCAR racing. Surviving are her mother, Dorothy Symons; a brother, Robert Kearney and his partner Joseph Muhlberger; as well as several cousins. A Service to Celebrate the Life of Jayne will be held on Friday at 12 noon at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home, 87 Main St., Phoenicia. Burial at the Tongore Cemetery. Friends will be received on Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon prior to the service. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Olive Fire Dept. or the Olive First Aid.
