I have been living in Houston now for 27 years and love it. The heat does get brutal at times but I can't take the cold anymore. I have been back to New York several times in the winter and don't know how you take those freezing temperatures !!!I still miss the change of the seasons and mostly the autumn colors but I try to get back in the fall and get my fix. i miss the mountains also. It's so flat here that you can see a car coming at you at night and it doesn't pass you for 15 minutes !!! I think I grew up in one of the most beautiful areas in the country but Houston is definitely my home now. I love the water and the beach and have quick access to it here. If anyone ever wants to come to Houston, you have a place to stay and tour guide!!!

School Story:

I have mixed emotions about my school years. I was a tall skinny girl with braces and coke bottle glasses which is not conducive to being among the popular people. Kids can be brutal and I experienced alot of that but it only made me a stronger individual. I did have several friends I hung out with all through H.S. and were true and supportive. i will always love those people. As the years went by and the braces came off and the contact lenses went in life became easier. I often wonder if the kids that teased me ever think about how badly it made me feel and if they are better adults now and more tolerant.I have wonderful memories of the fun I had in marching band and all through my senior year. Never did go to a prom...always wondered what that would be like. But as the years go by and I reflect back and see how it was all played out like it was supposed to. I am a strong, independant woman who is very secure and confident. I feel beautiful inside and out regardless of what others see. That comes from years of learning from past and Gods lessons. I am glad for the way my life went. It has made me compassionte, openminded and gentle with myself and others...I wouldn't change that for the world. So for those of you who took the time to get to know me and care about me...I thank you, you added so much to my life story,,, and for those who teased ridiculed or looked down upon me I thank you also ...for you helped shape a woman who has added so much to this thing called life and I know the world is a better place for it!

If you could build a second house anywhere, where would it be?

Key West or Bahamas on the beach.

Would you ever move back to the area where you grew up?

I couldn't. my blood has thinned out too much to tolerate the cold !!!!

Do you still see/talk/hang out with any classmates? Who?

I lost touch with most people but now thanks to facebook I am re-connecting.

What did you do right after high school?

Went to UCCC. Moved to Texas.

What do you do now?

I am a professional organizer making a living out of my anal retentiveness. I was a medical radiographer in the cardiac catherization lab for years...very stressful and life or death everyday and got burned out so i retired from that last year and now i work for myself.
My favorite job was when i was lead vocalist for a band. We played together for a long time. We would perform on cruise ships for months at a time. it really was my dream job to get to dress up every night do what i loved most {singing} and see exotic places.

What type of music do you like?

all types

What concerts have you been to?

too many to list.

Have you met/are you friends with any famous or interesting people? If so, who?

I have met alot of interesting and famous people here in Houston...too many to name. Probably the most interesting were the crew of the Space shuttle that blew up. I went to dinner and chatted with all of them and got to know them and was devastated when that happened. When I was growing up in New York My older siblings were friends with the guys from the band Orleans and we used to hang out on Sundays and play softball and cook out.

Have you ever been on TV?

no

What's your favorite memory of OCS?

Marching band. Hanging out with Gail norton, Nancy Schussler, Ruth winchell, Barbara sauer and krista Fusaro and Leslie Koehn. Especially when Gail got her car!!!!!

What's your least favorite memory of OCS?

being teased by the people who thought they were better than me.

What's the biggest thing you would do differently if you went back to your time at OCS?

I wouldn't change anything...all things happen in God's world for a reason.

What are your memories of high school? (i.e. secret crush, embarrassing moment, funniest thing you did, favorite hangout, favorite teachers)

Favorite hangout was Joyous Lake. i loved to dance...especially with Geoff Wright!!!

Any words of wisdom?

Any journey worth taking has to start with where you are.

Anything else we should know?

Be kind to all people. You never know when you are talking to an angel.
