Thank you to all who helped us raise funds for a Borah Alumni Scholarship during our 50th reunion! The Reunion Committee had no idea what to expect with our fundraising but the class donated generously through a live raffle and a wine auction at each table during the Saturday evening event. We are proud to announce that we were able to donate $4000 to the Boise Public Schools Foundation and specifically to Borah! Boise Public Schools Foundation is a private, nonprofit 501(c)3 organization established to raise and manage funds for the Boise School District. 

After consulting with the Foundation about the best use of our donations, it was pointed out that Borah is not the same school as 50 years ago when we roamed the halls. There is a very high needs, low-income population that could really use these funds for things like backpacks, extra-curricular fees, shoes, school supplies, activity costs, and more. The Reunion Committee agreed that this would be the best way to help the greatest number of kids so an "in-house scholarship" has been established and will be administered by the Social Worker at Borah, Becky Woodland, for current Borah students in need of a little help. She will let us know how the funds have been used on a regular basis. We look forward to hearing the impact these donations might have in helping to provide kids with a better, more enjoyable learning experience at Borah.  

We are planning to challenge other Borah High alumni and reunion groups to match or beat our donation so that this scholarship will be funded and continue helping students into the future. What a great legacy and something to be proud of!  Thank you Borah Class of '75!
