In Memory

Nell Mooney (Gutierrez) - Class Of 1965

Nell Mooney (Gutierrez)

Note on Facebook by Linda Gutierrez

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart we announce the loss of our beautiful sister-in-law Nell Elaine Mooney -Gutierrez. She and my bother, John Gutierrez, were married for over 52 years. Nell grew up in Boulder City, and is a BCHS graduate of the class of 1965 and was a BCHS cheerleader. She is survived, by my brother John, their children John Travis, and Janel and her grandchildren, Sean, Sophia, and Samuel. Also, her brothers Hershel, Denzil, and Lloyd Mooney and many more extended family members. Her biggest joy was talking about her grandchildren and how very proud she was of them. Nothing made her heart smile more than her children and grandchildren. Although small in stature, she was was a bundle of fire and brimstone mixed in with unconditional love, kindness, patience, humor, comfort to her family and a infectious giggly laugh that brought us all joy.

Her creativeness was a glorious expression of her soul, everything she created came from the heart which she loved sharing with everyone.

We will miss her smile, her laughter and sense of humor.

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. With the current Covid situation, the family have not made any celebration of life plans as of yet.

Please keep the family in your hearts and prayers. God Bless.

I'm so sorry, I just learned that you all lost Nell. I wish you all comfort and love as you manage life without her. For Nell a beautiful poem, May in peace you lay with those butterflies as beautiful as you are with their wings as loving arms above you in your newest place in Heaven. Nell was a friend to all you knew her. Rest in peace our friend and go with God. With love and caring, Mary (Quinn) Peterson.

So sorry to learn of Nell's passing. She was just a sweetheart and friend to all. I remember at one of the reunions we were talking. We were shushed, but we kept talking. We had so much to say to each other. I will keep her, John, and her family in my prayers. O:nen Ki wahi, my friend. That's Mohawk for goodbye.
