In 1988-89 a bunch of us got down into the tunnels below Viewmont (yes they are real) and wrote our names on the concrete walls with a permanent marker. 18 years later Lee's son got down into the same tunnels and without knowing it was there, he came across his dads name. He took a picture of the markings with his cell phone and came into the main office to show me. I didn't suspend the lad for messing around in the tunnels because #1. he was so excited and #2. he had a picture on his cell phone of the things I wrote back in 1988.
Lee's son looks just like Lee did, he is a great boy with a free spirit.
Good times and many memories, we miss you Lee!

That was a day I will never forget. I miss Lee and think about our "trivia" questions often when my kids are fighting for shotgun.
You are missed.

Lee's passing was a life changing expeience for many of us. I did not know him as well as many of you, but he touched my life and the events of that day still impact me. I miss him and wish his family well.

My time with Lee goes way back to elementary school. He was a funny kid then and when our paths crossed again in Jr. High, then at Viewmont the good times just kept coming. I was living in LA when I received the horrible news and I was crushed. It made me think of many of my friends and the good times we had back then. It's crazy how much time has passed and I still think of some good times I had when Lee and many others were around. I'll tell you one strong memory about Lee he was, without a doubt, the fastest running back on the football team an had great athletic skill on the field. To bad we sucked.

Take Care Lee, we miss you.

Thinking of Lee reminds me of the competitions between the Wolverines and the G-Strings. I think the unification of those groups was dubbed the Cheagles or something like that. Too bad it takes something so tragic to make you appreciate what is right in front of you. Take care Lee.
