I loved teaching and taught K, 1, 2 and 4th for 35 years. I'm proud of the Nature Center I started to help teach about Utah trees, plants and environmental ethics. In 1987, I won Elementary Teacher of the Year for The Arts. I also won first place in the Sandy beautification project for landscape design in 2004 when I redid my entire yard to be more water wise.
I like to hike, explore and photograph the ancient rock art of Utah, support environmental programs like the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance and the Nature Conservancy and walk in the foothills with my sweet golden retriever and my partner Bill.
Last year, I gave a presentation at the Parliament of World Religion in Salt Lake City. I have fun teaching about metaphysics, Kaballah, sacred geometry, ancient texts, Universal Dances for Peace, leading ceremonies like World Sound Healing Day and ministering at the Inner Light Center.
I participate in an organization to support women and the aging process. It is called Crones Counsel and was started 24 years ago by my mentor, Shauna Adix, late dean of Women's Studies at the U of U. It is open to women over 50.
I also participate in Adopt A Native Elder, a program to help aging Navajos. We take food, clothing, supplies, yarn, etc. to the reservation twice a year.
My project this year is creating a Summit on Global Values based on the book Global Values A New Paradigm for A New World, by Karin Miller (who is coming to lead it). I am working with Kaye Chatterton, former Pres. of UEA. It will be held Saturday, September 10, 2016. We are currently taking registration for this event.
I still like to play the piano.
