After working at Reeve's Grocery for 5 long years going nowhere, I decided to make a huge change and joined the Air Force. They told this old country boy from Alvaton that he was going to California to learn Korean and train as a Cryptologic Language Analyst. One of the first things I did was go find an atlas to see where Korea was. I spent a total of 7 years in Korea, and the other 13 years in the states waiting to go back to Korea. I retired from the AF after 20 years and was lucky enough to go back into the same job as a government civilian at the National Security Agency. Retired from NSA in 2022, and moved to a cabin in the woods in Greenhill.

Not a school story... but I want to give a shout out to Ludwig (aka Wes Aymett) for making my last couple of weeks in KY so memorable. We packed that time with water skiing, fishing, frog gigging, seining ponds for turtles, and drinking more than a few Natural Lights. BTW, we did catch a fairly good-sized snapping turtle that we had my wife fry up for us. I guess the fact that it had moss growing on its shell should have tipped us off that it was ancient and wouldn't be that good, but we ate it anyway. Lastly, I'm sure that my other KY "brother" Bill Campbell would have been right there with us, but he was already serving the country as an Air Force Intel Analyst.

I didn't have a clue... maybe work my way up to manager at Reeve's Grocery store. I know one thing though -- joining the military certainly wasn't part of the plan.

A cabin deep in the woods on the shore of a lake in the dead of winter. However, since I go on vacation with my wife Leca (nee Elecia Young), the only woods I see are palm trees and the shore is covered by sand.
