Lived in North Vancouver for a few years where I was a restaurant manager with Four Seasons Hotels.
Spent 10 years overseas. - 4 years in Saudi Arabia where my son was born and 4 years in Sana'a, North Yemen where I worked for the US Embassy.
Then I spent 2 years as first mate on the yacht Silver Dancer, sailing from Larnaca, Cyprus to Florida with my husband & 2 small children.

Arrived back in Canada in 1991 & started my consulting practice in 1992.

School Story:

Our Grade 8 class was the first from Brampton to attend Central Peel. All the other students were from a 25 mile radius around Brampton and came by bus.

I was the Central Peel Mascot - a green Griffin for our football team. Then I got promoted to cheerleader.

School was quite exciting with Model Parliament and Model Security Council. We met with delegates elected by many local high schools and also a Quebec delegation from Montreal.

Our big school trip was to New York City by train where we went to all the sights including a Rockettes show at Radio City Music Hall. The Empire State Building was one of the tallest buildings in New York at the time.

One of our favourite teachers was Mr. Bell, head of the English department. He was always cracking jokes and muttering under his breath about "linked pinkies in the hall" which was about as demonstrative as we got in those days. I remember very well one fateful morning in his class. There was a knock on the door and he went out into the hall, closing the door behind him. He returned to the room and stood at the front staring solemnly at us. We all settled down and waited with baited breath for his latest bon mot. He kept a completely straight face and said, "President Kennedy has just been shot!" The entire class erupted in laughter. He just looked at us and slowly it dawned on his audience that it was not a joke.
