Just wondering if we are moving along with the reuion, and if anyone is taking the lead? I keep getting questions about it. I think there is a lot of interest. Many people never got invites in previous years. I will volunteer to try to "find" people and give input on ideas, if others will volunteer to actually implement the plans. I also already volunteered to handle some sort of slide show (digital).

I would love to help in whatever way needed. Lets try and make this the best turnout ever. We have so many communication vehicles available to us that we didn't back then. This forum was a great idea. Thanks Lee.

I attended the 20 year. I think we should do much better this time around!! Anything I can do to help, let me know. I haven't kept in much contact with old classmates, but I can help find people and such.

At the "25 year Reunion" page it says it is in Orlando - that has changed now hasn't it? I thought it was the Tampa Bay general area.

I am so glad to have located this website. If it were not for FB, I would still be searching... I have not attending any of the reunions, as I had no contact with anyone of BHS. I miss the fun times and cherrish the memories... so many of them. Thanks Lee for putting this together. I would love to attend the 25th reunon, but need more details on the dates, etc. Hi to everyone!

I have attended all of the past reunions. I really hope this website and the many ways of communication we have available to us now will help boost reunion attendance. It has been sadly lacking considering the size of our class. COME ON class of 84 reunions are fun!!!

Hey everyone - we are working in finalizing a date for the 25th reunion. It looks like either June 5th and 6th (Fri and Sat) or June 26th and 27th. I know we will have conflicts no matter what date we choose but we are checking facility availability this week. We are looking at either the Marriott Sand Key or the Tradewinds Resort, both beachfront in the Tampa Bay Area. Stay tuned and as soon as we have the date nailed down and the property selected we will use facebook and this site to start getting the word out.

Okay folks, the date for the 25th reunion will be June 26th and 27th. Make sure your information is updated on this website and we'll be sure to get an invitation out to you as soon as they are availalbe. Save the date, and we'll see you in June!

Hey Lee and Tim, I know a number of people that haven't gotten invites, due to not having their information. I have informed many of them to come to this site and enter their information. I will continue to spread the word. I've never been to any of the reunions and I would love to see as many old friends as possible. The word is spreading my friends, thanks for the invite.

God! Doesn't it seem like yesterday when we were all sitting in the Expo center waiting for our names to be called to graduate? I remember it so vividly...

We all entered the center looking for other classmates we just HAD to talk with, our hearts pounding and our palms sweating...if that happened now, they would think we were having a heart attack. :)

Upon sitting in our designated areas, I was right behind Liz Webb who smelled so intoxicating I almost forgot why I was there. She reached around and adjusted my tassel that was hanging on the wrong side. She was always motherly like that.

Anxiously, nervously and with great anticipation we waited for our name to be called by Mr. Bryant. Searching through the crowds for people we knew, so we could wave to them, as if we hadn't seen them in a long time, even though we had just seen them a few hours earlier at some party our families had held for us.

With legs of iron, we made our way to that stage that marked a great milestone in our lives, there was no turning back and life was never going to be the same after we crossed that center point of stage.

Even though the words were "Congratulations!" by our family, teachers and peers, our ears rang of "FREEDOM!" Freedom to go out into the world and mark our spot. To take chances, live life and explore opportunities. To climb to new heights and take hold of the golden rings. Immortal and nothing could touch us, at least that is how we felt. We were, no...We ARE The Class of Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Four, Brandon High School...Fighting Eagles!

This is how I remember it...

Hey Lee,

I live in St. Petersburg, 10 min or so from Tradewinds, so if you need someone to help who is close I'd be happy to help. I only work 1 day a week and stay home with my kids.

Thanks for doing all this,

Chris Ouellette

Thank you Carroll...nice to know someone appreciates a slight bit of nostalgia coupled with a dash a youthful vigor.

This will be my first reunion, I have added a few people I stay in touch with. I have contacted a few more, I think this is an important time for all of us to get together.
We were one of the best graduating classes that Brandon ever had. By looking at allot of the facbook profiles it seems like most of us turned out pretty good.
Keep spreading the word about the reunion, every one should attend, the next big one we may all be in wheel chairs and walkers......lol

Gosh, I feel like I should kmow more people on the site, but I forget sometimes how large our graduating class was.I never made it to any of the reunions but if we have one for the 30th, I'd like to be contacted. Facebook has put me in touch with some of the people I used to hang out with but I'm sure there are a few more out there. I'd like to hear from the few of us that had Frau Anderson for German, for instance! I'm on FB as Paul A. Dodson Jr.

Take care fellow Eagles!

Reunion info! Brandon High School Classmates--

Thanks to those who have already replied with interest in the reunion!  We will get a reunion e-invitation platform set up soon and will be in touch.

If you're interested but have not replied, please do so at rich@petitt.com.  There is no financial commitment required at this point.  We are just trying to get an idea of the size of the group so that we can secure an adequate block of rooms.

Please share this post!  The bigger the group, the better.

Below is my original post with the details:

To all those interested in attending a Brandon High School Class of 1984 Reunion next year!  We have been in communication with the Tradewinds Islands Resort on St. Pete Beach.  Tradewinds can host a reunion for us October 24 through 27, 2024 (which is a Thursday to Sunday)!  We have had reunions at Tradewinds in the past, and folks seemed to enjoy the venue.  Late October should be a terrific time to visit the beach.

The resort is able to offer us a block of rooms at the following discounted rates:
Standard Room – $279/nt
Resort View Hotel Room – $319/nt
Gulf View Hotel Room – $339/nt
Resort View Villa - $439/nt
Gulf View Villa - $479/nt
You can view the different types of rooms at https://www.tradewindsresort.com/island.../accommodations

Our group rate includes the following:
·           $55 nightly resort fee
·           Self-parking – 1 parking spot per room
·           Unlimited rides on the High Tide Slide, Surf WipeOut, Waterway Paddleboats, and the Zing Ray Zipline
·           A Cushioned Beach Cabana for two, per room
·           Use of two state-of-the-art fitness centers
·           Day play for mini golf and beach volleyball
·           Touch Tank Experience
·           Nightly Campfire S’Mores
·           Tennis Courts
·           NEW Pickleball Courts
·           Beach games
·           Guest room Wi-Fi
·           Pool towels
·           In Room Coffee/Tea

Although we have not planned the reunion events at this point, the current thinking is to have meet-up parties at local bars/venues on Thursday and Friday nights, with a semi-formal event on Saturday night with dinner, band, dancing, class photo, etc.

Our first task is to secure a room block.  To do that, we need to solicit advance interest from you, so that we know how many rooms to block.  Blocking rooms requires a commitment (deposit).  We want to be careful not to over-book or under-book.
As indicated in prior posts, BHS friends from other classes are welcome to attend.

If you are interested in our proposed reunion at Tradewinds on October 24-27, 2024, we ask that you do two things:
1.   E-mail rich@petitt.com to indicate your interest and tell us how many rooms you anticipate booking, along with your complete contact information (physical address, cell number, and e-mail address).  We will create a spreadsheet of attendees.
2.  Share this post with BHS friends that you want to have at the reunion.  We have very large class. The key to making this reunion a success is to get the word out to our friends.

After we tally the number of persons interested, we will communicate with Tradewinds about the room block and let you know how to pay your share of the required deposit.

Finally, in the next month or so, we will select a platform other than Facebook to manage comunications about the reunion.

We look forward to a great reunion!

Richie Petitt & Todd Oliver
All see above and please let me know interest and I'll email Richie P...
