Shelley Alekna Presnell

Went to Catholic University of America in DC School of Nursing and graduated with a 4 year degree in nursing RN/BSN 1983...worked hospital nursing from 1980-1996 Greater Southeast Community Hospital in DC..and in mid 1996 started working for the Charles County Dept of Health, Maryland State Employee, in the division of Community Health & Prevention-School Health to the present...I am on my 17th school year working with middle school students and love it!
I have one son from my previous marriage, Ryan, who is 23 years old. He is an honor student studying Computer Technology at the College of Southern Maryland. Having been born 2 months premature, he has mild Spastic Diplegia Cerebral Palsy thus I am an advocate for those with disabilities. I am a wealth of information with regards to various topics relating to CP, public and private education and the law, individual education plans, testing, health insurance and the law, surgeries, rehabilitation, etc.-----relating to both my personal experiences and my nursing profession/practice. My memorable years at Gwynn Park:
Cheated my a** off in Ms. Hawk's English class senior year on a major exam that me and another student got hold of a copy of the exam before the test and we shared it with anybody who cared to view it before hand.
And....use to race other classmates going to school on Route 373 (Accokeek Road) on that straight away before the now drained TB Lake in my little beat up Orange 1971 VW SuperBeetle.
