There are 53 classmates who have put on their profiles they are attending the reunion and we have 104 active on this website. When Harry started talking about building this site and how it could be a great communications tool for our classmates I never imagined how popular it would be. Harry did a great job and so many are using it and getting in touch with each other. So cool.

I have e-mailed the class about the Golf Outing and Cozette Boyd Miller's Friday evening get together. I am posting the names for each here as I have them at 8:45 am on Tuesday morning. I'm sure there are others who are plannning on attending Cozette's get together we just haven't heard from them. But even if you forget to RSVP still come out Friday evening. Everyone is invited and it should be fun!

Golf Outing to be held at the Brazil City Course beginning at 8:30 am Saturday. Those names I have are Casey Crabb, Fritz Oehler, Harry Dressler, Jeff Anderson, Tom Pflueger, John Bennett, Dave Nolting, Steve Wilt, and Jack Roeschlein.

Get Together at Cozette's Friday evening. These are just the list of classmates names. I have included the RSVP totals on the e-mail I sent you. Names are: Casey Crabb, Teresa Steck, Brenda Giancone, Linda Nolting, Jeff Anderson, Scott Graham, Ann Fueter, Teresa McCullough, Marty Copper, Cozette Miller, Sue Piper, Richelle Herr-Smith, Laura Lessman, Robin Roeschlein, and Brenda Britton. Total RSVP's so far is 21.

I think Cozette's get together will be much bigger come Friday evening. I am going to call Cozette later today and I will be posting some specific directions to her home. She has given me Google Directions that we are still working on getting on this website. I will keep everyone posted on that.

Okay I just Googled the address for Cozette and it is simple to get to her home. The address is 6830 N 60 W Brazil, IN. If you go south out of Brazil on Highway 59 you go past where Joe Thomas lives and go down the hill past Joe's house and turn left off of Highway 59 onto County Road W 700 N. You then travel about 1/4 mile and turn right onto N 60 W.

Piece of cake. Sould be easy to find. Maybe we could talk Cozette into placing a couple of red and white ballons on a mailbox or something just to make sure.

I just spoke to Cozette and this will be a lot of fun. Just wanted to let everyone know Cozette's telephone numbers in case you need to call or get lost going to her home! Her home phone number is (812) 442-5137 and her cell number is (812) 239-4294.

I have heard from 2 more classmates today so the number for Friday evening is up to 25! Should be fun.

I'm getting several last minute emails and phone calls about attending the reunion and if you can still pay for reservations. We want as many to come as possible so feel free to contact me if you have not paid but would like to attend. We just need an idea of how many in order to give the caterer a head count.
My # is 446-0660.

For those who want to purchase a group picture at the reunion, the cost will be $6.00 for a 5X7 and $12.00 for an 8X10. Order forms will be available that night. The time is still TBD because the photographer is working a wedding that evening as well.

BRAZIL JR HIGH SCHOOL TOUR THIS SATURDAY AT 4:00 PM.

Hello Classmates, we have arranged for a tour of the Old Brazil Junior High School on Saturday, Aug 2nd. Meet at the Washington Street Entrance. Casey and I will lead the charge. It is guaranteed to bring back memories of Mr. Harrison's class, the principals office, the boiler room, the woodshop, the auditorium, the music room, the health room with the spit balls above the door, the lockers, halls, you name it, believe me it is all there. See you at 4 p.m. You won't want to miss this. I will even show you where Greg and I were graduation day in 9th grade.

Casey, Cozette, Classmates.

Thanks so much for the "get together" last night. It was wonderful to see all of you, and I really wish we could come to the reunion tonight.

I apologize for the early exit last night. Hopfully, I will be able to stay connected through the website and email.

I am currently playing in two different bands that work in Evansville at the Casino Aztar pavillion. One is a jazz/blues/latin trio, and the other is a nine piece motown/funk band. I will try to keep you up to date on these gigs. I think I will be there on Sunday, Aug. 17 with the trio, and Sept. 5-6 for my first gig with the other band.

Take care, and God bless.

-Scott

Thanks to all of you who did Casey's job to set everything up. I hope everyone appreciates all the work that went into it. Thanks also to Harry for setting up this website. I wish I would have had more time to spend there, but it was great seeing those I could last night. I just hope the steroids that Casey is taking to bulk up do not hurt him later in life!

I had a great time last night. I want to thank Harry for this website. This has been so much fun. Thanks Casey and crew for getting a wonderful time together. It's so nice to see how you all have aged and I haven't. hahaaaa!! The memorabilia was fun to look over also. It sure doesn't seem like it's been 25 yrs. Great seeing you all and best of luck over the next 5 yrs.

What a wonderful evening. All the different committees did such a great job. Thanks Casey for heading this up and Harry for creating this site. It was great seeing everyone last night and I hope to keep in touch with everyone through this site. Susan, great job with the power point.

Thanks again to Harry for getting this site up and running and to Casey for hand selecting the best committees to do all the work. Thank you to everyone that had a part in making the reunion a great night. My wife and I had a great time and it was really good to see everyone again. I feel very fortunate to be a part of the BHS Class of 83.

Wow! What a great time I had this weekend in our hometown. It was a great 25th Reunion! Please don't give me any of the credit, I really had very little to do with this. If anything, several months ago I simply got the ball rolling by saying we need to start having some planning meetings and then I was never able to make it to any of them. I simply kept in touch and gave feedback. To those of you who planned and put this together and decorated my hat is off to each of you and I say Thank You! You did an outstanding job. It was great to see everyone again. Brazil was truly a great place to grow up and I really enjoyed all of our years together through high school. The friendships created will last forever and our class was truly a fun class that enjoyed each other and had a lot of fun together. I heard stories this past weekend that I had forgotten and some I never knew about! Special thanks to Harry for putting together this website and keeping it going and to Cozette for having everyone to your wonderful home Friday evening. One thought I would like to float out there for the next reunion - Many commented on how ironic it was that the Brazil, Staunton, and Van Buren Class of 1983 all had reunions the same night. With the consolidation, has anyone thought about a reunion with all three schools together? Many of us knew several people from the other schools and it could be fun. Just a thought, we can always do our own if nobody thinks it's a good idea. Anyway, I look forward to logging on to this site over the coming weeks and seeing new photos from this past weekend. Maybe Harry can create a new category over on the left hand side where photos can be downloaded from the weekend of our 25th reunion. There were several of you who were taking photos. As for the rumor Greg is floating about me taking steriods - it's only me getting larger as I have gotten older! When you graduate at 150 pounds and get fat over the years you tend to get larger!

Everyone -

I definitely think at our 30th, it would be good to plan an activity with the other schools if we could coordinate it-- perhaps a lunch? I know the Staunton class president -- Reza Farid quite well. Not sure about the Van Buren contact?

I couldn't echo Casey's sentiments more. I am so thankful to have grown up with all of you. I always enjoy our time together at the reunions. Though I missed Scott Mercer on Friday night (Scott - I was so looking forward to reminding you of our "shower" experience while traveling during baseball), it was great to see everyone on Saturday and Sunday.

I promise to post some photos soon from the reunion. No time tonight.

Does anyone have anymore photos from the reunion to post of the website? There were a lot of photos being taken. It would be fun to see more photos. Hope everyone is doing well.

I hate to use the message board to advertise, but I don't know how to reach most of you. My band, The Two Tone Express, will be playing Feb 14-15 in Anderson, Indiana. We will be in the Hoosier Park casino from 8:30-12:30 on both Saturday and Sunday nights. If you are close by and really bored, come on over.

Well it's July 2, 2010 and of course since our reunion was two years ago and the next one is three years off, most don't check this site at the moment.  I really wander with Facebook how many will use this site.  I hope everyone comes back and starts using it again as we get closer to the next reunion.

My reason for posting is simple:  It's the 4th of July and to me, in my heart, the 4th of July screams Brazil!  I have to tell you the older I get the more nostalgic I am.  I absolutely loved growing up in Brazil and of course the highlight to any summer was the 4th of July and the City Park.  I can't tell you how much money I spent over the year's shooting basketballs trying to win those teddy bears!  I still think some of the fireworks were the best I have ever seen to this day.

We were fortunate growing up to have such a beautiful City Park.  All the land, trees, golf course, go-cart track, baseball fields, swimming pool, tennis courts, walking bridges.  What a great asset it is.  There is never a visit home that I don't make time to drive through the Park.  It really saddens me to read the newspaper on-line and see vandalism done to the Park in recent years.

Speaking of the City Pool, how many remember swimming in the old City Pool that the WPA built back in the 1930's.  I can't tell you how many times I scrapped me knees in that concrete pool!  You knew where the deep water was becasue of the fencing around the diving area.

I remember the entertainment being better and more in abundance than it appears today.  That's probably due to the economy I would guess.  I remember enetertainment in the bandshell starting at Noon on the 4th and going all the way up til the Fireworks at 10 o'clock and families pick-nicked in the park all afternoon and evening.  It was just a festive time.

Maybe it still is all that, and I hope that it is, but I just don't get home enough to know.  Those were great times though growing up!

We'll tackle the topics of economic growth, infrastructure, and job creation in Brazil some other time!

Ok, as I'm posting this idea I will be upfront and tell you that I'm not sure how to organize it, but I would really like our Class of 1983 to spearhead this idea.  Our classmate, Jennifer Hays Chamberlain, is the head of a wonderfull organization named S.O.S. helping the youth of Brazil.

For everyone who grew up in Brazil this group needs our help raising funds.  I have not spoken with Jennifer, although I have put an email out to her through this website, but I hope to very soon.  Her group has purchased our old Junior High School and is trying to raise funds for a matching grant to help in some of the rennovations needed.

That school provided so many of us with special times.  Whether it was in the classroom, the hallways, the gymnasium, and for Greg and Harry the bolier room!  Sorry couldn't resist!  Anyway, I am proposing that we work together for some type of fundraising drive to help Jennifer's group accomplish their goal.  This building could go on providing special moments for children and their families.  I can't think of a better use for that facility and my hats of to Jen for making this a reality!

I know the economy has been bad and it's the Holidays and as I said I'm not sure how much Jennifer needs or the timeline she is working with for this grant proposal.  I'm hoping to have her post here with the details or that she and I can get in touch with each other to discuss this.

I hope we can energize several classes and people who grew up in Brazil to chip in, it's not solely about our Class but helping out a wonderful organization doing a wonderful thing for kids.  What do you say Class of 1983 are we up for the challenge!  I certianly hope so.  Post ideas here or email me directly at ccrabb@whitecountyremc.com.
