Ricky Brush

Ricky L. Brush, 40, of Brazil, died unexepctedly Thursday, May 6, 2004, in his residence. Born Feb. 1, 1964, in Clay County, he was the son of Donald "Reggie" and Jacquelyn Harden Brush.

He graduated from Brazil High School in 1983 and began working as a machinist for Morris Manufacturing 10 years ago. He was employed there at the time of his death.

He enjoyed mushroom hunting, target shooting and watching NFL football, particularly the Colts. He had a lifelong hobby of building gas-powered remote control airplanes and had a large collection. He was a loyal and true friend to many.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Jacque and Jerry Evans of Brazil; his father and stepmother, Reggie and Gayle Brush of Harmony; a grandmother, Alberta Katie Shirery of Columbus, Ohio; a brother, Don Brush of Terre Haute; two sisters, Sandy Burdette and husband, Kevin, of Seelyville and Darlene Chafey of Brazil; three nephews, Brian McCullough, Chad McCullough and Tony Brush; and a niece, Jacque Chafey.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Donald Brush, and great-grandmother, Elsie Carmichael.

Services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. in French Funeral Home with his uncle, Jim Buck, officiating. Burial will follow in Bee Ridge Cemetery.

I sat next to Ricky in the 4th grade. Only because Mrs. Frost new I was the only one that wasn't afraid to sit next to him. Hope you're enjoying the other side, Ricky. I always knew what was happening for you, and people can be so truly terrible.
