I retired from bring a Software Architect at Group Health and am starting s new path to get a degree in Horticulture so I can do landscape design.

School Story:

I got a B.S. In Computer Science from Wedtern Washington University, worked for Puget Power after I graduated in 1981. Became software contractor for the Bonneville Power Administration. When the contract was completed I began work for Group Health as a software developer, then into management. I preferred software development over management and continued to work on developing on a pharmacy application that is going to be retired in 2016. I felt I needed to do something more personally rewarding do I retired from software to start a new career by going to Edmonds Community College and getting a horticulture degree in landscape design. I own a small company that sells a handicap assistive device (http://www.jb-3.com). I created this product to help a co-worker become more independent. My market is generally in the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. I hold 2 patents on this device. I got married to my wonderful wife Pat (Patricia) in 1989 and have traveled to Europe on multiple occasions, but future traveling will probably be in the U.S. From now on. Very soon after retiring I bicyed from our home in Bothell Washington to San Francisco in 13 days. I enjoy writing poetry, bicycling, driving my Corvette, tinkering in my garage, gardening, woodworking talking with people and learning.

Cathy Eders and Becky Schutt's deaths in 1972 affected very much when it first happened.  They were very nice girls and I went to grade school with Cathy Eder.  They were the first people I really knew that died.  I guess they introduced me to my own mortality.
