Alumni Association Bylaws

BYLAWS OF BREWER HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

ARTICLE 1 - NAME The name of this organization shall be the Brewer High School Senior Alumni Association

ARTICLE 2 - PURPOSE The purpose of this organization is twofold: to provide annual opportunity and a venue for older graduates of Brewer High School to interact socially with other graduates; and to fund a scholarship program for graduating seniors of Brewer High School. The latter to be chosen by the Brewer High School scholarship selection committee.

ARTICLE 3 - MEMBERSHIP All Brewer graduates or school attending students after their 50th class reunion are considered members. Retired Brewer school system staff are considered honorary members.

ARTICLE 4 - REUNION The annual dinner reunion will be held on the 3 rd Friday in the month of August. Advanced reservations are needed. To receive information about the reunion, mail a request to Brewer High School Alumni, PO Box 3605, Brewer Post Office, Brewer, ME 04412.

ARTICLE 5 - OFFICERS AND COMMITTEES SECTION I The officers shall consist of President, Treasurer, and Co-treasurer. The President will be designated as the Co-treasurer enabling both officers to be authorized as signatories on the savings and checking accounts. The number of committee members is up to the discretion of the President. SECTION II The Executive Committee will consist of the officers, past President, committee chairpersons, willing workers. SECTION III Committees for special assignments may be named at any time by the President or Executive Committee if approved by the Executive Committee.

ARTICLE 6 - PARLIAMENTARY AUTHORITY Parliamentary authority of this Association shall be Robert’s Rules of order (Revised) when not in conflict with these bylaws.

ARTICLE 7 - ASSOCIATION DISBANDMENT If the situation should arise that the Brewer High School Senior Alumni Association is disbanded, all monies will be transferred to the Brewer High School Scholarship Fund.

ARTICLE 8 - AMENDMENTS These bylaws may be amended at any reunion of the Association by a two-third vote of the members present.
